I am whole heartedly extremely disappointed in this business. Firstly my husband is Puerto Rican. We wanted to get some PR sides that would go with the chicken that we cooked for dinner at home. We found this restaurant online and saw it was 8 minutes from where we were, so we said let’s go. We get there and the atmosphere was very nice, vibrant colors and looks like the food was good. I was soo excited upon entering the restaurant. 1st we arrive at 5 minutes to 9pm, we walk in and we look around for maybe someone to guide us to the Togo area because we were going to order the sides. There was a lady in all black who looked like a hostess but just stood towards the back of the restaurant by the register looking at us. Clearly she worked there but said nothing to us, even though we were looking around for where to go to order Togo. I see the register in the back and assume that the area- right next to the girl in black. I go up to her and she just kind of mumbles this is where we order. To this moment I still do not understand her position or role cause she just stood there. I am still super excited to order and look at the menu cause everything looks good. We get the menu and we order 2 sides of yellow rice with beans, Maduros, and an appetizer of tostones with steak on top. Very simple and should take about 20 minutes max because of the appetizer. I paid and added a $5 tip and began to wait. 30 minutes goes by and my husband goes to ask if the to go is ready- they tell him almost. We say ok and go outside to wait. Another 15 minutes goes by, I say to my husband outside that this is crazy because all we got were sides. I guess the owner/manager/boss was outside and heard me and came up to us and said sorry it will be 5 MORE MINUTES. I say ok but it’s kind of long but I still relax and wait. ANOTHER 15 MINUTES goes by and my husband goes inside at this point to speak to the manager. He said they were packing up the food. I am frustrated but I say ok fine. ANOTHER 7 minutes goes by and at this point we have waited a full hour and some for some sides, the same man who told me 5 minutes comes out the kitchen ad asked my husband “what was it that you ordered?” My husband is totally confused because he said he was getting the food packed up. So basically they were lying to us and didn’t have the food made! My husband at this point asked for our money back because they did not have anything made. I came inside and was upset that I waited all this time to just be fed with excuses. Multiple people came into to eat after we ordered and had food in front of them. Why wasn’t our food ready?. Instead- the manager instead of just admitting his wrong - comes with tons of excuses 1) that he has a bunch of Togo and door dash orders. I saw no orders waiting 2) that the rices is made from scratch and to order- anyone who eats Spanish food knows the rice is not made in small pots but a large pot and it is not made to order because it would take too long and people who came after us had rice! When I tried to talk to him he said he does not speak much English (but he understood my English outside when he told me 5 minutes) so I told my husband to speak to him since he speaks Spanish. All we were fed were excuses and no accountability. We are people traveling from out of town and if you want good business you should not handle situations like this. By the time I left the restaurant it was 10:07pm. Wasted a night waiting for food we never got and left hungry and no food to bring to the people at home waiting for it. At the end of the day TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR YOUR WRONGS AND TRY TO RECTIFY THE PROBLEM NOT PUSH OFF EXCUSES. As much as I would of liked this place I can’t have the right mind to spend my money here in the future because of how they handled my situation and their wrongdoing....

I made a permanent move to the Kissimmee area about 3 months ago, and not only is this place the best Hispanic restaurant I have been to, but it is the best restaurant period. I had the pork mofongo and no other place can compare to Cayo Azul. l have tried a bunch of other places (Tropical Mofongo, Grillers, Cilantrilo and a few other places where I forgot the name since they didn't leave a good impression) but this restaurant truly is not only is the best Spanish restaurant I have been to in the area, but the best restaurant period. The food is EXCELLENT and the amount of food they give you is very generous, and the presentation of it is great too. The others I was with ate different dishes, and those meals looked awesome as well and they loved how it tasted. Now let's talk about the Atmosphere. I don't know who designed and decorated Cayo Azul, but they did an absolutely amazing job. It was a pleasure to be in the presence of their beautiful decor. It is very nice and clean inside throughout. The bar is awesome, the barrels look really cool. I did not take any pictures while I was there, because no camera can capture the true beauty of this place. It must be experienced in person. If there is one area where the restaurant needs improvement, it is with how the waitresses tend their tables. They were all really nice and sweet in personality; however, they did not check to see if we wanted refills on our drinks, or if we needed extra sauce or napkins, etc. It was a little difficult to get their attention and I had to get up a couple of times to retrieve more napkins and silverware. And it was not like they were understaffed. There were four waitresses plus the manager out on the floor, and we still did not get the attention we were hoping for. Most tables were taken, but the establishment is not very big and they should have done a better job of tending their tables. Other than that, the food here is the best I have had in the 3 months I have been in Central Florida, and I go out frequently to eat. Para que nos cogieran la orden para bebidas ya que ninguno ingerimos alcohol hubo que pedirle por favor por la demora, luego no se nos permitió pedir aperitivo hasta un rato, en mi caso que no me interesaba aperitivo tuve que esperar por el resto. cuando se ordenó se tardó demasiado 2 horas, le hago la observación al Manager pidiéndole que si me podía dar mi orden para llevar su respuesta fue en un tono retante y en otras palabras llamándome mentiroso. Pude observar salir de la cosina el mismo plato de tacos a una mesa que llegó al rato después de nosotros pues estoy seguro ya que eran conocidos que nos saludaron. No sé si su actitud era porque estaba estresado de anteriormente la cual pude observar que tuvo otra situación con otra mesa que de hecho la mesera se burlaba desde la registradora ó pensó que buscaba algún descuento pero por nuestra parte ninguno del grupo volveremos aunque la música, comida y lugar nos gustó a todos, todos coincidimos en que para el precio la espera y mal manejo del manager no vale la pena volver ya que hay varios lugares con mismo concepto y comida en Kissimmee. Mi consejos es que mejoren al Manager porque de no estar en los caminos del señor los ánimos de ambos se hubieran salido de control.. lamentablemente no volveremos así sea por la casa la cuenta.. Este lugar no representa nuestra cultura, pueden ir a Grillers, El Cilantrillo ó Pal' Campo que la comida es buena y buen servicio nunca he tenido inconvenientes de espera más de 1 hora ó peor aún actitud no apropiada de parte de una mesera ó Manager.. Very unfortunate that they have a Manager who does not know how to attend or rather manage a restaurant because the place, music and food are very good. In order for them to take our order for drinks since none of us drank alcohol, we had to ask him to please because of the delay, then we were not allowed to order an appetizer for a while, in my case, I was not interested in an appetizer, so I had to wait for the rest. when it was ordered it took too long 2 hours, I make the observation to the Manager asking him if he could give me my order to take away his response was in a defiant tone and in other words calling me a liar. I could see the same plate of tacos coming out of the kitchen to a table that arrived a while after us, as I'm sure they were acquaintances who greeted us. I don't know if his attitude was because he was stressed from before which I could see that he had another situation with another table that in fact the waitress made fun of from the register or thought that he was looking for a discount but for our part none of the group will return although the music, We all liked the food and the place, we all agreed that for the price, the wait and poor management by the manager is not worth returning to as there are several places with the same concept and food in Kissimmee. My advice is to improve the Manager because if they weren't in the ways of the Lord, the spirits of both would have gotten out of control... unfortunately we won't be back, even if it's for the house...
