My wife and I don't live on the Key, but visit multiple times a year because we have family here.
We went to Fulano on January 3rd for dinner. Our server was prompt and attentive and the food arrived quickly. Unfortunately the quality of the food was disappointing.
We ordered:
-Drinks- One glass of Cabernet Sauvignon - wine was good
“Classic” Margarita - very disappointing. $15 for a drink that just tasted of sour mix and ice. Difficult to discern any flavors of the spirits. Also not sure why a “classic” margarita came garnished with Tajin seasoning and rosemary.
-Starters- Beef Empanada- tasty though small and nothing special. Argentine style empanada.
Tuna Tartare - Tuna tasted fresh but a little plain. The crispy quinoa was fine. (Taste improved with a squeeze of lemon that came with the empanada)
Octopus -the romesco sauce and the potatoes were good. Unfortunately the octopus was under seasoned and overcooked.
-Main- Local Snapper - the risotto was good. The fish was under seasoned and very overcooked. This final plate was the most disappointing. My wife and I did not even finish it even though it was a small filet to share.
The summary of our meal was that it was uninspired, under seasoned, and over cooked.
Unfortunately, we won't be back. There are a number of better restaurants at the same price...
