I want to vent about an experience I had here that really bothered me. Iāve always loved this spot. A little hole in the wall diner with a homely atmosphere and great prices. You really canāt beat it. My mom and I donāt get to spend as much time together as Iād like, so on Tuesday, with some free time, I decided to take her out to brunch so we could finally catch up and spend some quality time together over a nice meal. She had never been to Good Times and I talked it up so much, so she was pretty excited to try it out. We decided to meet at 10am after I dropped my son at daycare. Itās important to note, I had to have him picked up by 12:30, so we knew going in we had about two hours to eat and catch up a bit. Got there a little after 10, took some time to check out the menu and ordered. At this point everything is great, as usual. Then we finish up our food and pay promptly, but we continue some long overdue catching up. Iām a server as well and Iām used to getting the occasional table that camps (term we use for people who stay beyond just their meal to chit chat). Do we love it? No, weād rather turn our tables, but restaurants are a social environment and itās not uncommon. And especially if thereās no wait, itās honestly just whatever. Itās just something weāve come to accept in the industry. Iām also well aware of the importance of turning tables or servers shifts ending, thus why I paid promptly and if Iām at a restaurant and I notice tables have filled up and thereās a wait, Iām usually the first one to chime in and suggest to find another, less busy spot to continue our socializations. This wasnāt the case here though, so from my personal experience, I would deem this an okay situation for us to hang around a bit and converse. Iād already been keeping my eye on my watch because I knew I had to leave by 12:00 to get my son. Right around 11:35, the waitress comes up to us and says āIām gonna have to ask you guys to give up the table and get goingā. We were both dumbfounded, like my mouth was open but I was completely speechless, so we didnāt even get a chance to respond before she just turns around and walks off. My mom looks like sheās about to cry and Iām horribly embarrassed cause this was my suggestion. We start getting up and on our way out passing her my mom says in a quiet tone as to not cause a scene, āthat really was not kindā. In return we got a much louder response of āwell, you guys have been here for 2 1/2 hours, we need to seat other peopleā. Maāam, first of all, I was just crawling out of bed 2 1/2 hours ago. What an exaggeration. Anyways, after she said that we both kinda looked around and pointed out a few other open tables and no āother peopleā waiting to be sat at the door. And said āof course if you needed the table for other people we would understand and happily pass it to them, but it doesnāt look like anyone needs this table right nowā. We just got a huff and she walked off again. I guess since we already paid, she figured she could treat us that way and send us out the door once through with us. If I hadnāt paid yet, I wonder if she still wouldāve done that to us. I wonder if that kind face/personality we had at the beginning of our meal wouldāve stuck around a little longer, in an effort to not harm her tip. Regardless of my unfortunate experience, I stick by my assessment of great spot, great food, great prices. Just maybe some fake smiles and whatever you do, DO NOT overstay...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I have ordered several times from this place and it was about a 3 or 4 star for me, until today. As usual, I ordered my food for delivery and usually it arrives within 30 minutes or less; today it took an hour. My food was already cold and soggy by the time it arrived. Also, when I called to order I specifically said I wanted extra hot sauce, that I did not mind paying extra. When my food arrived, there was about 3-5 drops of hot sauce in my container. I called and asked for more and I was told they would send someone back to deliver it. I finished my food and about 15 minutes after that someone came in to deliver the hot sauce with the nastiest attitude I have ever seen. She stormed out and peeled out in front of the office building and drove off as fast as she could. After today, I doubt Iāll ever order again from this place. Iām very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe waitress was nice. The lady by the bathrooms dropping f-bombs left and right was ...not. i felt bad for the kid waiting for the bathroom that heard her.
The food was bad. Either I buy really good eggs for home or they buy really bad eggs because the over eat egg was gross. The home fries were even worse. I really don't understand how they could get them to taste that bad. I ended up not eating my food and just paying the bill.
Maybe they were having an off day. Or maybe this is the norm. I don't know, but I wish I spent the extra dollar and went to another place...
