My first visit to Guru Indian Pizza in Panama City Beach was an unforgettable journey into the delightful fusion of Indian flavors with the classic pizza. Walking into this place without any prior expectations, I was pleasantly surprised by the innovative menu that promised a unique dining experience. 🐥The Butter Chicken Pizza was a revelation, combining the creamy, spiced richness of traditional butter chicken with the crispy, comforting base of a pizza. Topped with succulent chicken pieces, onions, diced bell peppers, and fresh cilantro, the pizza was not just visually appealing but also a flavor explosion in every bite. While I found it slightly saltier than my preference, it was nonetheless a tasty introduction to what Indian-flavored pizzas can offer. The Curry Chicken Pizza on the menu caught my eye for a future visit. Equally impressive was the Veggie Curry Pizza. As a vegetarian option, it was no less exciting. The base of curry sauce complemented with red onions, bell peppers, green peas, and fresh cilantro created a harmonious blend of spicy and fresh flavors. This pizza, too, served in a generous 16' XL size, was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to catering to diverse tastes and dietary preferences. These culinary creations speak volumes about the popularity of Indian-flavored vegetarian pizzas in the U.S., particularly in areas with a rich tapestry of cultures like Panama City Beach. It's fascinating to witness such culinary innovation where traditional Indian dishes are reimagined in pizza form, bringing new flavors to the forefront and inviting more people to explore and appreciate Indian cuisine. 😏As a newcomer to Guru Indian Pizza, I left with a list of flavors I hope to see in the future – perhaps an Eggplant Curry Pizza?an Okra Curry Pizza?or even a daring Biryani Pizza. Haha 😆!! The visit was not just a meal; it was an inspiration, showcasing the endless possibilities when two distinct culinary worlds collide. It's a place that I would recommend to anyone open to exploring new flavors, and I eagerly anticipate my next visit to try more of their inventive and delicious pizzas.

We’ve tried this restaurant twice—once for dine-in and once for takeout—and both experiences gave us a good sense of what they offer. During our dine-in visit, we were really impressed. The Chili Paneer Pizza was absolutely amazing—full of flavor and a great fusion twist. The Mojito mocktail was out of this world, refreshing and perfectly balanced. We also tried the pasta, which was quite good. For our takeout order, we went with the Shahi Paneer Pizza and Butter Chicken Pasta. The Shahi Paneer Pizza was just okay—not as flavorful as we expected. The Butter Chicken Pasta, unfortunately, was a bit of a letdown; it had a strong tomato base that made it taste a little sour and somewhat bland. We also ordered the same Mojito mocktail as before, but surprisingly, it didn’t taste as good as it did during our dine-in experience—perhaps a consistency issue. The ambience of the restaurant is very nice, with a lot of seating space and a welcoming atmosphere. What really stood out was the unique menu—an Indian-Italian fusion with creative dishes you don’t often find in the U.S. They also offer classic Italian options alongside their fusion menu. Overall, it's a must-try spot, especially if you're near Panama City Beach and looking for something different. The concept is refreshing, and the menu has plenty of exciting options for adventurous foodies.

We ordered the tiki marsala pizza, a margarita, meatlovers (carnivore) and a small sausage and green pepper. Let me start with the positive. This business clearly takes pride in their business. They make everything fresh. They apologize for the wait as they make everything upon order and take their time with your order. The ingredients were fresh, the dough was great and the flavors on the Indian pizza were fantastic. My order was taken by a sweet and friendly young woman. I ordered 3 xl pizzas and 1 small. My total was $92, so pizzas were roughly $25 each, which is a pretty average price point. She apologized that it would take about 30 minutes but this was just fine for us and worked with our timing.

What was so disappointing and shocking was that although they advertised fresh ingredients, the "margarita" pizza was a basic cheese pizza with dried basil sprinkled on top and a few cherry tomatoes split in half and thrown on top. I did not take a picture (phone lost in the gulf) but my family was extremely disappointed. This is not a margarita pizza. A quick google search would show them that a typical margarita is fresh mozzarella, fresh basil and Roma tomatoes. This one was actually pretty gross. The meatlovers was a little better. There was a lot of meat - to be honest, probably too much which made the thin crust soggy rather than crispy. Weirdly, even with all the meat, there was not much flavor. The small sausage and green pepper was ok. Nothing special.

Where Guru's excels is their Indian pizzas. The crust was perfect, the flavors complimented each other and it somehow was a blend of the best of both worlds - pizza and Indian cuisine.

Don't go in expecting great American / Italian style pizzas, but if you are planning to try something different and unique, you have come to the right place. Overall, this was not somewhere my family would chose to go again. I personally liked the tiki marsala, but no one else was impressed and we ended up throwing much of it away. I had 5 teens with me, so that rarely happens. I do have to tell the business that their professionalism and the pride with which they run their business is commendable. With a few tweaks to the American/ Italian style pizzas, they would...

If you love pizza and you love Indian dishes, you will not go wrong here. Here, I found the combination was superb. This place smells so amazing as soon as you walk into the main seating area, and the decor is charismatic and inspired, so despite the familiar Arby's-style floorplan I knew this was the right choice for me.

I had the Yamraj House Special Spicy Pizza, as a medium. I can handle a lot of heat, and this pizza did not disappoint. If you are unused to the soothing heat of a well-balanced approach to the spiritual aspects of culinary arts, where you feel life flow freely down your forehead and onto your napkin and health comes from the food you take within, this will be a different experience for you. It's worth noting the name, which I didn't know anything about until looking later, so it makes sense to think of this pizza as judging you as it slays you, taking in your worth as you enjoy hot, soothing spices that don't overwhelm the chilis, chicken, cheese in their own charming churn within your chewing mouth, but your mileage might vary. I enjoyed the challenge, the punishment and the reward.

We also had the chilli paneer, and I thoroughly enjoyed that combination of flavors as well. The desi masala fries were well-seasoned, and when taken with the mango habanero, also combine and, as the idea goes, fuses into a genuine delicious experience. I can get very carried away, but it was very satisfying to try something made by people who want to innovate, a dish that seeks to blend conventions into new things. Maybe you're the sort of person who needs your pepperoni and mozzarella and french fry and ranch sauce to always taste the same every city you go to, because that's comfortable and familiar, in which case it's worth trying something different in order to see just how vast and wide and wonderful things can be if we learn to blend our lives well, and together.

I do wish I lived closer to try even more of the options, but it's motivation to come back. For those of you luckier enough to live nearby, give them...
