I came into Hoots for the first time and was greeted very nicely by the host. My friend had already pre ordered her breakfast and when we went to pick up the food we decided to sit and eat. The host informed us that the order was not completed yet, which worked out great. We were seated and the server came. My friends food that she ordered came to the table in a take away container and wasn’t plated. This was fine and not a deal breaker. When she opened her order, she noticed that the potatoes given to her was home fries instead of hash brown, which is what the pic shows on line. When brought up to server, she stated that she should have stipulated. She asked if she ordered a number two. My friend confirmed and she said “that’s how it comes, if you wanted hash browns, you should have asked for it”. Confusing because the pic on line shows the order with hash brown. Moving forward, I asked what veggies where in the skillet and she said all… I asked her to let me know which veggies because there are some I can’t eat. She said “Spinach, onions, green peppers, and tomatoes. I said it was fine and to please give me hash browns instead of home fries with order and to please make them crispy. When my food arrived, it has all veggies she mentioned, along with broccoli and mushrooms. The hash browns were not crispy and actually, quite smushed. When she came to table and asked if all was ok, I stated that I asked her what veggies were in the skillet because there are some that I can’t eat and don’t like, Broccoli and mushrooms being the two. She stated that she in fact had told me. I informed her that she had not said it and if she did I would’ve have told her I didn’t want it in my skillet. She then repeated in a much reprimanding way, “ I told you, it comes with broccoli!” I said, ok well perhaps, I didn’t hear you mention the broccoli and the mushroom. Then I asked her, “why are you speaking in that tone, it is not about right Or wrong and that she was being argumentative. I also said to her, You know it doesn’t have to be this way. She dismissed what I said and said “Do you want it to be done over?” Again, with a tone that I didn’t appreciate. I told her, no that it was fine. She then came back 5 minutes later, with the bill and did remove the skillet from bill, which was nice. It’s a shame because when I walked in, I thought it would be a nice place to have breakfast, but with the service that I experienced, I don’t know if I...
Read morePresently sitting at the Hoots near Lely, finishing my coffee and writing this review. I was seated immediately, and my order taken quickly by a pleasant waitress. Unfortunately it's a small space and I had to listen to the extremely loud lady seated at the next table as my "atmosphere". The food (a Bacon Skillet) arrived quickly. From there it was all downhill. The skillet had a coagulated clump on cheese on top that I picked off. I don't mind a little cheese but I swear there was a quarter of a cup on top! The two eggs on top... I could barely find the yolk. The yolk was very small. The potatoes sat in a bowl of grease, as if they fried the bacon and poured it and the grease it produced right on top of the potatoes. I could not eat it. The waitress asked how my breakfast was, I said " Meh." and she questioned no further. I asked for a water and a warm up on my coffee along with my check, for $17.50 — wasted money - and she asked if she could take my barely eaten, deconstructed bacon skillet. I said yes, and again she did not question my satisfaction with the meal. Trying now to determine the tip I wish to leave. She was prompt, pleasant, and quick to serve, but missed an opportunity to make me a satisfied customer. Unfortunately, I now remember why I have only been here a handful of times in the 7 years I've lived here, once in Marco too, and it was the same. I cannot recommend the quality of the food. Better off to...
