Here is the review of Hot Rocks pizza. Location is the old Zzz Pizza which made an incredible pie and was devastated by the pandemic.
In comparison, Hot Rocks is not to the level of Zzs pizza but does have potential.
Pros: Pizza was actually tasty. We ordered the Works and Spicy Italian. Dough was good and sauce quite nice, which i believe is essential in a good pie. The place is close to our house because we live in the Baycrest area. Pizza was made quickly. Make sure to call the correct HR because they have another location.
Cons: The toppings were not plentiful and sparsely put on the pie. See attached picture of the works. The minced onion and green peppers on the pizza are lightly scattered through the pizza to the point you really can’t taste it. Why not put slices on onion and green peppers? That pizza is more like “The Hardly Works”. The same thing happened with the Spicy Italian.
The prices on the menu is cash only. Which is a troubling trend i am seeing in some establishments. Ok, if you want to compensate for the charges, put the prices on the menu for Credit Card purchases. If you pay cash, you get a discount. You are penalizing people for using their Cc.
Train the employees to make emphasis on which location they are calling. We got bit by that once and ended up having to wait for the pie when i arrived.
I am hopeful things improve because i am all for supporting local businesses over the mediocre...
Read moreI have been ordering from them for awhile now. We typically order Wednesday nights n wknds n honestly I've never complained about them as I enjoyed their service n food. Last night (wed night) we ordered 2 sandwiches my husband started eating before me n was enjoying his meal, I took a bite n right away I said this taste different...not a good different. I took 2 small bites n again told my husband I can't eat this it taste strange asked him to try it. He bit into it n spit it out. I immediately call to let them know something was not right as we are on the phone my husband is pulling the sandwich apart n the salami was literally spoiled very pale in color with green n brown spots on the meat. The very same moment the girl on the phone hears my husband in the background saying uuuugh disgusting, she says we can give u a credit for the sandwich as I already said I don't want a replacement. We will no longer will be ordering from them as I could have gotten food poisoning n I'm not willing to chance that as the manager said she made my sandwich n saw nothing wrong when she made it that was the icing on...
Read moreon 7/24/24 I ordered a Meatball Sandwich & Italian Sub... We always order every Wed & Weekends. The Meatball Sandwich was awesome!!! The Italian not so much. We call Rocks Pizza located on Memorial Hwy where we ordered the Sandwiches from. The person that answer the phone was like "hold on let me get the Manager".... we heard the Manager say, "I made their sandwich, I didn't see anything wrong with it". WOW Really!!! after opening up the sandwich I found the problem... the HARD SALAMI on the sandwich was old (Visually) and you could smell it. Rocks Pizza tried to give us some credit, but the Dinner was already ruined. ($40.00 down the drain). and you wonder why My Wife took 3 small bites and that was Bad Enough. I wonder how many other customers had their Dinner Ruined. I can't trust your pizza toppings being fresh If you can't even make a damn sandwich fresh. Whats the issue WHEN WE ARE RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET 5902 Memorial Hwy. ...
