I normally go and try new restaurants based on Google or Yelp reviews so had really high hopes for La Hacienda. We got there and were not acknowledged promptly. It was not a big deal, we were just excited to try something new and delicious. Salsa was a bit too spicy for our taste but hey everyone's palate is different. As far as flavors developed I couldn't really taste anything else other than the hotness of the peppers in it. Cheese dip was extremely watery and didn't look like an actual cheese sauce more like cheese diluted in water. We found some of the prices a bit high for the portions. Ordered the chicken fajita style quesadilla and flautas. The quesadilla portion left me wanting for more. Normally I can't finish a quesadilla by myself at other Mexican restaurants and for almost $14 I might as well pay $2-3 extra dollars and go to another Mexican restaurant. Flavors once again were just like the salsa it wasn't bad but nothing out of the ordinary that would make me want to come back. The real issue were the flautas, they looked stale (like they were made with time in advance and maybe were re-fried), one of the flautas came completely empty with no meat inside, we said something about it and they brought another flauta without apologizing for the issue or at least as good customer service demonstrating us that they were sorry for the inconvenient. My sister tried to eat the flautas but the meat inside was burned and really dried; we know flautas are fried, but we had never seen something like that. I think we just went on an off day because I could read really good reviews but at least my pocket won't be giving them another chance because I didn't feel like an appreciated customer and even the server kinda like gave me a bit of an attitude when I kindly asked for the flautas to be removed from my check because they were not edible (we left the whole plate). A huge shout out to the only employee at that restaurant that genuinely seemed concerned about doing a good job and brought our drink refills which we were waiting for a long time (Alex). It took them about 30+ minutes to take our order which was also a little bit more than what you are expecting to wait especially if you are hungry and see other people being taken care of than...
Read moreWe have been eating a this restaurant since 2016. Never before have I had the fajitas here, but I do often eat fajitas. What was served to us today I can only describe as meat crumbs. It was like eating the broken crumbs from the bottom of a bag of chips. Because the bits of meat were so very small, it was all charred like the Cody's roadhouse that just burned to the ground. The crumbles of meat were crunchy like cracklins' not like eating a steak fajita. What made the matter worse is when I asked if this was how the typically served their steak fajitas ($20) the woman elevated her voice and snarked at me that this is how they have been made for 15 years. Truly I was only asking to determine if I was given a bad plate or if this is just not their best dish. Since Im spending my hard earned money, and customers spending money is what keeps them in business I do expect that staff can be reasonable. I wasn't asking for a new plate, I wasn't asking for the meal to be taken off the check. Just asking for my knowing. This is a restaurant. Things aren't always going to go to plan. If the staff cannot handle a simple question asked in a casual tone of voice they should not be front of house. It's a shame that we will take our business elsewhere as a result of poor service and an entitled attitude. I do not have to spend my $$ in that establishment and there are many good Mexican restaurants in our area. My son enjoyed his burritos and said they tasted good. $12.50 for 2 isn't a bad price. $3.75 for a beverage thar was never refilled is ridiculous. In this day and age where businesses are raising prices and reducing what you get for your money, my response will be to carefully curate where I spend, as well as the likely hood of second changes...
Read moreThe best thing we ate was the complementary salsa and chips. Ordered chili releno, chicken enchilada, steak burrito lunch trio, a steak quesadilla supreme, and chunky guacamole. The releno was supposed to have ground beef and cheese, but it looked like refried beans in texture and color but had no flavor other than salt. The enchilada's chicken was dry, tough, and barely seasoned. I'm surprised the chicken was so dry seeing as how the whole plate was covered in sauce. The burrito had only steak in it......no cheese, beans, rice or anything else. Just meat and tortilla. The steak itself was tough and chewy as well as unseasoned outside of salt. The quesadilla was more of the same salty tough and chewy beef. The chunky guacamole had visible onions, tomatoes, and cilantro but still had no flavor. While I like the taste of avocado, thats the only flavor that was in it. I even tried to add salt and pepper but it could be helped. We spent about $55 on the lunch portions which isn't terribly priced BUT for the low quality of food we endured.......it wasn't worth it. This has to be the most unflavorful Mexican food I've ever had from anywhere. Our server was very sweet and very helpful. She was great at checking in on us. We also witnessed other staff tending to a guest that had fallen down. Very kind...
