OOOOH MY GOSH THIS WAS AMAZING!
Bear with me on this life story. I promise, it's relevant to my raving review.
A couple months ago my parents moved back to the U.S. after several years in the Middle East, and a week ago my dad was suddenly diagnosed with cancer. My sister, husband, and I flocked to Florida from out of state to support him as he began chemo and radiation. As his treatment continues, his health will temporarily decline including his ability to enjoy food. As a family, we bond best over a meal, so we spent the last week enjoying a culinary adventure as best his health would allow.
Dinner here was our last dinner together for who knows how long and it did not disappoint. The food was big in flavor and in portions; the owner was hospitable, warm, and welcoming with spot-on recommendations; and the seating though casual was quite comfortable. It was prefect.
They make a dinner special on Fridays and Saturdays around 6:00 p.m. until sold out, and they make breakfast on Sundays. They also sell dessert on Sundays that they prep on Saturdays so that the dough can rise overnight, then sell it on Sundays until gone. They're closed on Mondays but open Tuesday - Sunday.
As our fight into Flroida landed on a Saturday, we held out eating here until the following Friday so that we could enjoy the dinner special. Dad hyped it up all week and the man was not wrong! We really did save the best for last. And let me put it into better perspective: one of our dinners together was at Morton's Steakhouse and while that was lovely in its own right, dinner at ITALO was my favorite. If I make it back to Florida, this is where I'm coming for dinner no matter what day of the week.
Now I beg of you, Italo, come to...
Read moreI decided to give it a chance due to so many good reviews but unfortunately reality was different than those reviews. (I can’t even review food because there was nothing to review) We decided to go last weekend and the minute we got there we were greet by a rude women, which has zero customer service skills, then we ask for desayuno de chicharrón and salchicha de Huacho and she said it was finished, so we proceed to ask for anticuchos she said there is none, we also ask for ceviche and they didn’t have, she was rude as we kept asking for dishes they didn’t have. She sounded annoyed and I guess it was because she just arrived with her breakfast from somewhere else and wanted to eat it. Basically she told us there is nothing and to come back a different day. The truck looks nice and clean but I suggest you place someone else to give a great customer service experience, we all know you sell food and sometimes dishes are sold out but there is ways to tell people things are sold out or don’t have them and at the same time making sure those customers will come back to still...
Read moreI love trying different Peruvian places always to get ceviche because it’s my favorite dish. I’ve seen the food truck and today I decided to try it because I was excited for a Peruvian food truck 1 minute away from my house. I tried the ceviche and loved it. It was a good portion. Tastes different than other Peruvian ceviches I’ve had but definitely enjoyed it. Fish was fresh and it was only $12! This is a new food truck ran by a couple I believe, and they were very nice. I hope to see them get more customers soon, and I will be back to try...
