What a shame. With such a wonderful selection, I would hope that employees would take the time to get involved with customers. I just moved down from New Hampshire, and was looking for a local store to further support my gaming hobby. My collection includes hundreds of board games and countless thousands of dollars in warhammer, my business was there for the taking. While polite, the person behind the counter made no effort to find a solution to something they didnt carry at that moment (a particular paint color) When asked how long will it take to get, he replied "I will have to " wait to Monday to check with my distributor", and dismissively said "sorry man" and went back to his computer. Even after telling him I am looking for a store since I moved down, he seemed to be more preoccupied with the computer. Not even checking if I can wait, or contact info.I was going to keep it to myself and simply take my business elsewhere, but then I read the reviews and this seems to be a common theme as a problem there, with employees uninterested in anyone they dont personally know. So I figured I would share my sentiment to inform others that it seems to be a continuous problem. I am not hard to please, and a genuine interest in any customer's needs is all it takes to secure my business. I am willing to try again, and...
Read moreSo I recently began collecting again and have been traveling with work collecting throughout the US. I was excited upon returning home to check out some local shops. This place is very cool and the staff has always been friendly. They gained a repeat customer after my first few visits and then lost one on today's purchase. I pulled some new comics for this week, 5 from the 5 for $15 and a number of dollar bin pulls. They questioned where I got some of the comics then went over the pricing, one of the dollar bin prices where more than a dollar as they said one customer put their own stickers on them. She asked if I wanted it at that price and I said no. My purchase was fine, it was my friend's purchase that on how they lost a customer. He purchased roughly from the same places. Some new, some 5 for 15 and a number of dollar bin pulls. They rang up 5 for 15 then the new and went down the dollar bin ones. I noticed them talking about 3 of them and then punched in the number. You would think they would tell you they were not priced at a dollar but at $5 a piece. The staff has a responsibility to inform the customer of the price change. I find that bad business practices and it makes for poor customer experiences where they do not want to return. I will take my weekly...
Read moreI grew up reading comic books, but am older now so I missed out on what's been happening in the comic book world lately.
I decided to stop by here just for mere excitement. The first thing I noticed was PokéStop outside, because I'm a nerd at heart and love that game.
Inside the store I had the chance to meet a wonderful man named John with whom I had the chance to reminisce with about Jim Lee and his work on Stormwatch, which is now with DC. We also had the chance to speak about the Legion show and how it's a bit different than the comics. He was very knowledgeable about comics when I asked him some questions.
Overall, this store gave me the opportunity to connect with my youth. It has a wide variety of comics to select from, graphic novels along the walls and I decided to get Star Wars and X-Men: Legacy to start...
