I had never been here before and came in for lunch with my boyfriend which ended up being an overall wonderful experience. It was a Wednesday during lunch time and they weren't too busy. The interior feels very homey and is run by the same Argentinian family that used to own Che Tano. They have a bakery, wine selection, and meat counter where they also butcher everything in house which is probably why my meal was so delicious.
When you first walk in you can immediately see the HUGE selection of empanadas they offer so we decided to start our meal with some of those. We got two assortments, baked and fried, both being cooked to perfection where the baked empanadas weren't too doughy or dry and the fried ones far from greasy. My favorites of the empanadas that I highly recommend were the mushroom, ham/cheese, corn, and sausage. The sausage was outrageously good and I have never had an empanada that could compete with it!
For our entrees I went with something off their lunch menu which is very well priced considering that you could get Argentinian sandwiches with soup or something off the grill with a side and cup of wine. I got the NY strip steak cooked at the perfect Medium-Rare with their recommended beets potato salad which I loved. My boyfriend and I shared this and some smaller menu items: morcilla (blood sausage), Argentinian chorizo, and their sweet breads. The blood sausage was the best I've ever had, really, and I order it at other places often. I had never had sweet breads but it was AMAZING and I will surely be back just to have them---again, cooked perfectly.
Can't wait to return and their owner Carla was such a pleasure to meet. She is a true butcher babe and took the time to explain her menu to us. She adamantly expressed that she is a big supporter of the local community and other Argentinian restaurant owners which is always a plus in my book! Definitely go check this spot...
Read moreEDIT: please see the distasteful response from the restaurant. They are confusing me with another party, I went with my parents, so we were only a party of 3. Also, I have no reason to lie about us eating here and getting sick. We got the parillada mixta and all three of us were sick to our stomach after our meal here. Also, when we went we were literally the only table, the fact that the restaurant was empty should have served as a warning sign for us not to eat here. The women working were behind the counter chismosiando and didn't tend to us the way I have been tended to at this restaurant in the past. But I digress, this restaurant used to be one of my favorite Argentine restaurants. I was visiting from out of town and wanted to treat my parents to a delicious dinner and what we got was bad service, subpar food, a stomach ailment and a very rude and unprofessional response from the restaurant after leaving an honest review. The fact that I had a mini-daschund in a soft sided carrier (not a stroller) is irrelevant to the service and food we received at this restaurant. My parents had just picked me up from the airport, and I was hungry, my dog was not a nuisance, he never barked at anyone, or even so much as made a sound. He stayed in his airline carrier on a chair next to me the whole time... A little accountability goes a long way. The restaurants response and attempt to gaslight my family's bad experience is telling.
Original: Avoid this restaurant . The service is horrible, the women that were working behaved as if it were an imposition to have to serve us. To make matters worse, everyone that ate got sick to their stomach.
Evitar este restaurante. El servicio es pesimo, las muchachas que estaban trabajando se comportaron como si fuera una imposición servirnos. Y para colmó, todos los que comimos nos...

Its a nice atmosphere in the restaurant, the chairs and table could use a little refinement. The food and service were ..eh to say the least. I had the chorizo with baked potatoes and potato salad. The chorizo had it s natural flavor but the potatoes were blander than bland. Had to add lots of sauce on them. My friend had the churrasco and I tasted it and I had never tasted a churrasco so bland... it was a crime to even call it churrasco. Moist bland flat steak would be a more suitable and appropriate name. The service was ok... had to ask 3 times to get some water at the table and finally got a pitcher once we had finished our food and had paid the tab. All in all I probably wont go back, but if you are a senior citizen with no sense of taste, I would highly recommend this place. Im a super relaxed person, but at least be attentive about beverages and something as simple as water when only four tables in the restaurant were actually...
