As a truck driver (currently) I stopped by to try this Macondo Coffee Roasters, and absolutely loved it. Several things; 1. The egg and cheese croissant sandwich was simple yet delicious. 2. The Gluten-Free chocolate muffin was a nice size and wasn’t too sweet like most deserts you would order at a coffee shop. 3. The triple-macchiato was like what a macchiato suppose to be and not this giant cup of sugar with burnt coffee like a major franchise we all know 😒. The macchiato was 8 oz, you can taste the richness of the coffee and the balance between milk and coffee was fantastic. 4. The girl at the register accidentally overcharged me for caramel flavor which I didn’t recognize till I sat down, so I politely asked them…in return they refunded me for the macchiato and made me another macchiato 🤦🏻♂️ I genuinely feel bad now for saying anything.
There is zero to complain about here. The food. The service. The atmosphere. Everything is amazing and it was a warming as well inviting feel to the overall coffee shop.
Macondo is exactly why we the people as a whole should support small businesses instead of these corporate chains of overpriced overvalued bad quality coffee.
Final note: I LOVE that they have an elegant paper menu you can look at on your own instead of reading off a mobile phone or trying to struggle looking at a menu 10 feet away 🎉
If I am ever around this area, I definitely will come again....
Read moreThis business used to be Degajé Local Market. If you miss the chill atmosphere friendly staff, and tasty drinks and food, you'll be happy to know this place has that in spades!
The interior has been modified to have more usable seating space, many with outlets (look under the window seats!) It's full of rustic textures and bold warm colors, and the added loft area by the counter with sacks of coffee beans helps dampen the echoing noise of customers and the kitchen.
Speaking of kitchen, although the Mountaineer and Share coffee is no longer served here, the coffee beans used are flavorful and robust, with a deep fruity aftertaste. The menu has been adjusted to a graphic that shows the composition of each drink. If you are tempted to ask what the best is, the answer is rightfully everything, but I suggest starting with a latte, and adding a sweetener to taste.
If you're the type of cafe-goer that wants to say for a longer time with more food options, you'll be happy to know the food menu was greatly expanded with many breakfast-like and lunch options. The pastry menu has been simplified, but everything compliments the coffee drinks.
While it's true the old cafe was a gem in the north Tampa Bay area, this successor brings it's A-game. Whether you're looking for a new place to grab a premium espresso drink or spend time unwinding with good vibes this place deserves...
Read more2024 Review⭐⭐⭐ Recently revisited after being away from the Local Area. The atmosphere, background and interior design has changed. Between hours of 2:30-3:30 (after Lunch-too early for dinner), while on way to appt. planned stop to relax and hopefully to see a savory option similar to cheeseboard charcuterie (cheese, fruit, cured meats, nuts, spreads, whole grain bread), although there were none. Ordered Iced Matcha Latte for Dine-In and received in a Plastic To-Go cup. When paying did not get offered a receipt. Felt as if the Staff were preoccupied and were lacking attention with the payment process and expressing thanks.
There was a handicapped and challenged patron accompanied by two others attempting to coordinate door entry that I helped. Staff was slow to observe (glass door and windows) and to welcome.
Will reconsider an update of 2024 Review on a future visit. Missed Wayne & Holly (Class Acts).
