It took three rooms, three hairdryers and two microwaves to find a room with things that worked. When I plugged in the second microwave, it blew the circuit and there was no electricity until someone who knew what to do could get it turned back on. I really didn't want to move to a fourth room. The towels were dirty and the room (under the beds was terribly dirty).
The outside door across from my third room did not lock. Was left open to the parking lot behind the hotel all night. When I questioned that, I was told it never locks because there was a camera on the door. There was drug trafficking in the parking lot behind the hotel and I simply did not feel safe.
The third night of my stay (I was a stay over), in the evening a man entered the room without knocking first or announcing himself as a hotel employee. It turned out to be a hotel employee (Robert) and I was told that is the standard procedure for "checking up on house keeping". I was also told that another employee was with him, that was NOT so, and that they knocked first, that was NOT so. I questioned the integrity of the woman who explained the process as to why they would check on housekeeping so late in the day and especially since I was a "stay over".
On the positive side, the beds were comfortable and there were no bed bugs.
Ebony, an employee who seemed to work around the clock was exceptional!! She worked very hard the night I checked in to find a room that had locks that worked with keys and to get me, a senior citizen on the first floor as the elevator didn't work. She also ran herself ragged to find a hair dryer for me, get a microwave that worked and to find someone who could fix the electrical problem. She was busy, but tried very hard, to treat everyone fairly and accommodate all needs. No One else at that hotel came close to measuring up to her attitude for "service to the customer" and her dedication to the hotel trying to ensure everyone was happy and that the hotel retained a "good reputation". Sadly, working one employee overtime and like a race horse, does not bode well for management or for corporate. Would be tragic...
Read moreI have a king room but its not as nice as the pictures someone else posted. Where is that room? I'm a diamond elite member... As some other reviews say,, the room is clean but could be cleaned better, especially with covid you think it would be. Some febreeze would be helpful for the smells..my room doesn't smell very good either, also as some others have posted. AC filter was dirty, also not properly secure, I cleaned it and put it back in correctly. I'm only here one night and arrived pretty last, but if that wasn't the case i would def be asking to change rooms.
There are some old reviews that mention roaches (which honestly is surprising to me, would not expect this hotel to have a roach problem). No indication yet, hopefully they got rid of them, but I sure will post and drop my rating if I see any...thats my number one deal breaker.
I'll update and post pics when I'm leaving, that way I can move my stuff off to the side. But I will post one pic now, "is this my welcome gift?" 🤔😂
Ok i did forget to take more pictures. But I mean its a bit outdated, so believe it or not. Doesn't really matter. What does matter is the smells, and roaches... which here is my update on that- nope didn't see any. I even stayed an extra day. I will leave the 3 star rating due to everything I have mentioned. If I could rate 3.5 i would.. but i honestly cannot rate it a full 4, as i stay in many different hotels weekly, as i travel for work. (This was just a drive by quick stay.) The staff was nice also btw.
Please improve with the cleaning and smells. Thats the easiest things to do, thats what gets me, like I really don't understand why some hotels are just so below standards in that department. Maybe the housekeeping staff needs some...
Read moreSo…I used to stay at the Comfort Inn down the street, but it’s no longer a Comfort Inn and apparently not a Choice Hotel. For my purpose it and now the Rodeway are a convenient location. Having said that, the Rodeway is quite an old structure. The gentleman at the desk was nice enough and actually changed my room after I reported the TV wasn’t working. The room was clean enough and the bedside lamp did have a USB outlet, but there were knobs missing off furniture and the tub plumbing was quite old…like the structure. There was an outdoor pool which appeared to be clean and convenient for parents with children. The ice machine on the first floor was out of order with a sign directing to a working one on second floor! As I was trudging back to my room with ice I noticed a gentleman coming down the first floor hallway with a cane. He’s on the first floor for a reason…where the working ice machine should be! I’ll probably look for a more up to date property next time and pay a bit more for a room. If you’re a young parent with small pool loving kids on a budget, this Rodeway is probably an excellent choice. Breakfast was meager with dry cereals, bread, toaster, store bought muffins, and the world renowned waffle iron! What kid(and the one in me) doesn’t occasionally enjoy a Belgian waffle without having to clean up afterwards. I didn’t see any sugar free syrup if there’s diabetes in your crew and no eggs or meat. If frugality is your watchword, this is an...
