We had the pleasure of having dinner at Magnolias on the Bay Sunday evening. We were absolutely thriller from the moment we were greeted by the Valet parking attendant in the parking lot. I might add that there is also a boat dock on the bay in the rear of the restaurant for the seafaring visitors to Magnolias on the Bay.
A pleasant greeting by the hostess before being seated. We decided to do the special dinner for the two as did our friends. We tried the " snake river roll sushi, the shishito pepper skewers and the Charcuterie board which was more than enough for the four of us to share. For the main entree, two of us had the pork chops and two had the salmon. The food was delicious with a beautiful presentation on each plate. Almost didn't want to ruin the picture but then again, we were there to eat. What a pleasure the meals were.
Temperature was perfect, seasoning was not over done and the speed of service from placing the orders to delivery was perfect timing. We were treated as valued customers by everyone. Heather, our server was very attentive while she also tended to the bar and we never had to wave her down for any request. Of course, what is a great night with wonderful friends unless you have a satisfying dessert. That is exactly what we had, a sampler of chocolate cheese cake, key lime pie, creme brulee and something like flan. We were not disappointed and will return to sample more of their diverse menu. Give yourself a treat and make a reservation at Magnolias. There is limited inside dining and covered outside dining with fire pits and a view of the bay. You...
Read moreNow i know why this place has so many positive reviews! Everything from start to finish was top notch! I made a 615PM reservation and I'm glad that I did. When we left the place was packed! We arrived on time and were seated promptly by the warm hostess. Our very animated waiter, Joey, soon arrived and introduced himself. He set us up with cocktails first. I had the jalapeño pineapple Margarita that was absolutely delicious! My wife had the Passionate Hibiscus margarita that was also delicious. Appetizers were Shoshito peppers and beef tenderloin skewers and the grilled octopus salad. I've had grilled octopus in many restaurants and I can say confidently that this was the absolute best I've ever had! For mains my wife and daughter had the Grouper special over saffron risotto and asparagus and I had the Surf & Turf. Cashew (I think) crusted lobster tail on garlic mashed potatoes and a petite fillet with an Aù Poivre reduction separated by broccolini. The Grouper was moist and the risotto was perfectly cooked. Delicious! My Surf & Turf was epic! I can't sing its praises enough! Everything about it was perfect! The fillet was a perfect medium rare and the Aù Poivre was rich and flavorful. The lobster tail and garlic mashed potatoes were perfect as well. Surprisingly we had room for dessert. An espresso and a dessert I can only describe as a chocolate peanut butter mousse. It was so rich I had trouble finishing the last bite. But I pushed through because it was so good! I was especially impressed with each dishes presentation. As my pics show, they're beautiful! We'll...
Read moreTwo different people told me how fabulous magnolias is! I was wicked excited to try for myself. Very hard to get a reservation here… It’s very popular place and I heard the food was excellent. So we took a 4:45 dinner reservation days ago… just to get in. I like eating early so I didn’t mind. Charlie said that ahi tuna was fabulous! So was his scallops. Joan had scallops and said that was fab as well. I ordered the bone in ribeye with asparagus and summer squash cooked medium rare. Expensive but I normally order a salad so I wasn’t feeling guilty for what I had hoped would be an excellent steak. It was beautiful hunk of meat…. But when I cut into it it was very medium. The waitress came by I showed her the steak it clearly was not medium rare so she took it away and brought back another steak… This one was RAW... seriously the Ahi tuna was cooked more than the steak. It’s OK. They don’t need my business… The place was completely full when we left. I put a five dollar tip in the singers tip martini glass. The bill was $187 and we tipped $24 to the waitress. I had a couple of bites of summer squash and III spears of asparagus… Tomorrow I’ll throw the steak on the grill at home cook it for a couple of minutes and I’m sure it will be delicious. I was hoping to find my new favorite restaurant that I could bring all my friends who visit too. I am just disappointed. I love excellent service… I love fabulous food… I love taking such good care of the wait staff that they’re always...
