Englewood Beach — Attraction in Englewood

Have been to this beach several times. The area is clean and if you tire of sitting on the beach, there are places for other activities next to the parking lot, such as picnicking using the provided grills, or volleyball and horse shoes. There are some restaurants and little shops nearby, along with a boat launch. I did not give it 5 stars due to all the pay to park kiosks being covered and unusable. The end result was I was FORCED to spend time downloading and using their app to pay. After walking the parking lot and finding the kiosks covered up, I went out on the beach, set up everything, then went on line to see how I could pay. At first it said I could just pay on the Website, but found the only way I could pay was to install their app. I had to create a profile, then found I needed the license number of my vehicle along with the parking space number. This meant another trip off the beach to get this information. I lost about a half hour of beach time, along with a lot of roaming around until this was done. Love this little beach. My family and I spend a lot of time there. The sand is so soft but gets very hot so make sure you protect your feet. The water is gorgeous and usually pretty calm but can get rough at times depending on the tides and winds. There are several covered Pavillions with BBQ, which are first come first serve. There are 3 large gathering covered Pavillions for rent as well. There are two volleyball nets, a nice new playground, bathrooms, outside showers, a small boardwalk and a basketball court. There's beach chairs and such available for rent on the beach itself. There is convenient store and souvenir store along with several amazing restaurants with live music just across the street. Absolutely fantastic beach.... 4 resteraunts / adult beverage locations at walking distance . The beach is truly a buried treasure all the locals even hang out here. The beach has white sand and beautiful sloping beach to the water.. They rent umbrellas and chairs( in season) and there are vendors that make mixed frozen drinks on the board walk. Highly recommend for any family.... the beach bathrooms are clean and well lit ...clean until about sunset time after that its hit or miss. Great local shops all walking distance and parking is easy but you want to come early if it gonna be hot... fyi pay to park ...
