With all the red tide problems & rain I've missed going to the beach. So I had to go... I heard RED TIDE was starting to clear up & I wanted to see for myself. The beach was pretty deserted, maybe 4-5 small groups of people were there. I didn't smell anything, which was good but I did have persistent coughing for awhile. I didn't see allot of dead fish, 3 to be exact but I stayed in one area so there may have been more further down the beach. The water was a bit green as pictures show but no one was in the water. I hoped to find shells but no such luck there, workers who combed the beach for dead fish must've collected shells too. So I satisfied my curiosity about red tide clearing up, I believe it is but its not quite ready for normal population. I'll give it a few more weeks & try again.

Englewood Beach in Florida is everything you would want on a Gulf of Mexico beach. White sand, turquoise clear water, naturally beautiful! There are restrooms, ice cream shops, trinket shops, bike trails restaurants. Enough conveniences for a family, but still natural. Loved the beach, not crowded on a weekday, people visiting were friendly, calm atmosphere, very pleasant to soak up the fun and cool off in the Gulf of Mexico. Punta Gorda Florida was the home base, Englewood Beach was a half hour drive.

Nice beach. Sand Is a bit more course than some of the other popular FLORIDA beaches. Sharks teeth wash down from Venice here. So a less crowded spot to look, not always quite as nice though. Pay to park. You need an app. Restrooms are a walk away. Not super close. They have a kiddy park before entering the beach area. It was closed when we went. Not sure why. No signs. Just yellow tape. Lots of seaweed. It was gone after a few days. Bad red tide. Also gone within a few days. Beware of jellies.

I won't lie and say this is the best Gulf of Mexico Beach 🏖, but if you have kids especially little ones this is much more entertaining for little Tykes. There's stores, restaurants especially my favorite places in the older downtown section of Englewood. So if you do have kiddies that get bored very quickly go here You'll save yourself from getting a headache from the "I'm bored" "There's nothing to do" Then of course are the toddler's and preschooler's who'll just whine you overboard.

Ok Blind Pass Beach 🏖 is a much beautiful quiet place to watch the waves play and tan. Other than Lover's Key near Fort Myers Beach being the greatest and most...

This is a really nice park. Things were clean. Mostly what drew us this time was the fact that there are beach wheelchairs available for use morning to afternoon at no charge. Just want to say a big Thank You!! To the persons responsible for making that happen. It was such a pleasure to get our friend out on the beach. Then for them to even be able to get into the water was marvelous. I'm sure others really appreciate this service. There are also rental chairs and umbrellas available, clean restrooms, water fountain with clean bottle dispenser, and loads of other good things. Just check out their website for more. I'm sure...
