Mama B's Diner — Restaurant in Florida

We visited Mama B’s Diner for the first time on a weekend morning in August 2024. We had passed it before and kept saying we needed to give them a try. So we did. Normally we would go by later in the day. But Mama B’s is only a breakfast and lunch restaurant. But we made a point to visit them this time. We arrived around 8AM on a Saturday morning. So unlike other reviews that I had read, Mama B’s was fairly quiet. There were other folks already seated, but there were plenty of tables available. Mama B’s was a cozy little dinner that had a comfortable country feel to it. I’m not a fancy restaurant type of guy, so this was welcoming to me. We were seated in a booth that could use some upholstery maintenance on the seats. The seats were not uncomfortable by any means. But they were worn from obvious use. I guess the seat wear is probably because they get used. As we used them. The bathrooms were close to where we were seated and I decided I should wash my hands before our meal. The restrooms are separate doors/rooms in a small hallway, behind one door marked as restroom. We found them to be acceptably clean. Not the newest, but clean and functional. As to the actual food. The menu had a decent selection for breakfast (and lunch). I went with the daily special which was a sausage, egg, potato, cheese and sausage gravy bowl. The wife went with cinnamon swirl pancakes and a side of sausage. And yes we both ordered coffee. We found the food to be quite good. I tried the wife’s pancakes, and really liked them. And I’m not much of a pancake guy. Our waitress was what I would describe as high energy. I do not mean that in a bad way. She just was fast and efficient. And yes, very friendly. So for us, everything was more than acceptable. Now I have read a couple of reviews where folks felt they had unreasonable wait times when Mama B’s was busy. I will not judge other folks on their opinion when Mama B’s was very busy. For us, we had zero complaints about service. But again, it was fairly quiet being earlier in the morning. The prices are subjective to your own opinion, but we found them fairly reasonable. Yes you always want them less expensive. But we didn’t find Mama B’s over priced. We found them to be a good meal at a fair price. We found the service to be fast and friendly. Our waitress was great. Our food was good. And it felt comfortable having our breakfast with them. Never had a problem with food here in the many times I have gone , it’s delicious and simple and well priced . However today I waited from 11:28 - 12:15 before my bacon egg & cheese English muffin was brought out , if I didn’t have respect for the servers and restaurant in general I would have walked out . There was a group of 20 I was told is why it took so long , okay that’s still not a legitimate excuse . A restaurant is supposed to be able to handle the capacity of the patrons inside and still get food out in a decent time frame . But , what I want to point out is that while cooking 20 bacon cheeseburgers you couldn’t drop 1 egg on the grill and toast my biscuit ( you already were making bacon for other orders ) . So my BEC could have been sent out within minutes if any attention to customers incoming orders were looked at . Instead of making me wait 45 minutes for a simple sandwich . After asking to have my food To-go once it came out because I had to leave , I was still asked to TIP ! Wow … Sorry but I won’t be coming back or my family

To the owners disrespectful message on here : It’s not skipping a ticket , it’s called expediting a small order and not making a regular wait an hour for a sandwich and suggesting I go to a drive thru instead is ridiculous. I sincerely hope your business fails , I was going to come on here and Erase my review today and give y’all a second chance . But after reading your message...

I'm flabbergasted at my experience at Mama B's Diner. You know how you'll go to a restaurant, and the wait person is polite, aloof, fake smiles, and just wants a good tip? This WASN'T my experience. My waitresses name was Brittany. She is the most - authentically happy to do her job person - I have ever had the extreme pleasure of meeting. This woman not only loves her work, but is literally always smiling, or laughing with each passing minute. I asked for crispy bacon, i got crispy bacon. I ordered a waffle, and it was the freshest, melt in your mouth waffle I've eaten in a long time. I only wished I had ordered two! We told her we had fasted in the morning for medical reasons so she QUICKLY got us piping hot coffees, and left lots of room for cream(which I'd asked for). The food for my husband, and I came out hot with hardly a wait at all! The whole experience was a marvel!! Going forward, I won't go to any other waitress except Brittany. She is a gift to this place. Knowledgeable, professional, polite, good listener, but best of all GENUINE! Thank you Brittany for the oh-so-wonderful experience you afforded us.
