Twistee Treat Ocala 2 — Restaurant in Florida

Our first visit to a Twistee Treat in September 2023. I like the option of the drive though, which we used since it was pretty hot outside. I like the little ice cream cone shape of the building. Although I wish they had an indoor place to eat your ice cream, so it doesn't melt so quick. We drove up and had to choose from some good options. Then we drive up to the window, pay, then waited a bit for our order to be completed. You cannot look into the Twistee Treat while waiting at the window. They use a window block you see in a lot of pickup truck back windows, to prevent this. But it does read thank you on it. I feel uncomfortable not knowing what is happening on just the other side of the glass, while I am on full display for the other side to see us. Anyway, we ordered a couple of small twirls, which is like a Dairy Queen Blizzard. These two small Twirls, cost us approximately $13. And that's the small size!. Although the small size is fairly large itself. So Twistee Treat seems pretty expensive. Our order came out after a few minutes, and was dripping down the side of the cup onto the cars console, before I was handed the second Twirl. So our one napkin each was already used up with the melted ice cream. We pulled over to shade the front of the car while we ate in the air conditioning. I cannot imagine ordering at the walk up window then trying to sit a one of the tables to eat this twirl. I would probably be drinking it. Anyway, the ice cream was very good. Was it worth the price? So there's the dilemma. Pay the price for a really decent ice cream treat, or not pay the price and take other options. I might like it a little better in the winter months where it is cooler, so we could sit outside. I'm sure I'll return to Twistee Treat since it'd close, good (abet expensive), and not...

We have been there multiple times, but this the first time that we had such a bad experience that we won’t EVER go back, we ordered through the drive thru and the manager was having a hard time taking our order, he said I Can’t understand you, I asked for a plain hot dog (thinking that they put the condiments on the hot dog) and for ketchup on the side, we also order a banana split, after paying and getting our order I notice there is no ketchup so I asked the guy if the ketchup was inside and he said no, I asked him if I could have some and he asked the manager to pass it to him some, but he scream to him inside thinking that we couldn’t hear him “ THAT’S NOT PLAIN” and the other kid said “I know right “ which it was Very RUDE, and we also got a rotten banana in our $5 banana split ice cream DISGUSTING!! First I have to say just like everyone else very delicious ice cream, and for the size it's worth it. I was getting the Large waffle cone with vanilla ice cream that cost $2.99. When I placed my order today 10/27/18 he told me almost $4 dollars and I almost had a 💓 attack no pun intended. I asked if the prices went up and he said no and that I was welcome to speak to management no need I said to myself an ordered the med. that came out to $2.99 and when I got it I knew I got screwed and that they jacked up there prices last time I will be going there for my cheat treat day. I didn't see the last owners but if they were Indian then I guess staff didn't change but if they weren't then they did change and changed prices too good...
