I haven’t been to Marble Slab in a while but I remember it being great and this was just “okay”. This location does not offer samples at the moment, which I understand in the post-COVID world we’re living in, but that is important to know.
They also do not do orders over the phone. This has been something I’ve done with most restaurants/food places for years and never had a place say that was not possible. I was especially taken back because there was not a soul on there when I went on a Wednesday evening.
However, those are just my preferences and my rating comes from the favor of the ice cream and the state of the toppings- and the price not being worth it.
I got the birthday cake and it tasted like a base ice cream flavor with a hint of vanilla. I added rainbow sprinkles and a brownie. The brownie had a crusty texture which to me means it’s old and did not have much chocolatey flavor. If it’s not possible to maintain all the toppings, have fewer topping that you can maintain better. If they come crusty, that’s a shame.
My husband got a raspberry sorbet that to him was not very flavorful (I think it has a very bitter after taste) and gummy bears on the side. There were 5-6 gummy bears and that just seems very sparse.
I’m a huge fan of ice cream and know that when it comes to places like this, not every flavor will be my favorite but the toppings should be on point and the flavor should be present.
We both got a medium/regular and my husband said it was about $15. Not worth it, which is the reason for the rating.
Maybe those flavors are the 2 misses and there’s something else that is much better but I wouldn’t go back to test it, especially while they are not...

Well, either my memory failed me or I was flat wrong. Tonight around 6:30pm, we stopped in for a milkshake and I wanted a mix of three different ice creams (dark chocolate, cinnamon and coffee) and was told that this was not possible. I was told that I could only have a mix of two ice cream flavors. I asked, “even if I pay extra?” Still the answer was no. I wasn’t asking for more ice cream, just three different flavors. The worker said her manager wouldn’t allow it. I asked for the manager’s email and they didn’t have it. They only had a business card with the store phone number. The store employees do not have the store manager’s contact information! What bothers me is that this was a super simple request and they don’t have their managers email. If this place can’t fulfill the smallest of requests, couldn’t even offer an alternative, and was actively willing to lose a customer, that’s pretty poor service. We walked out without ordering anything, disappointed and mad. My request wasn’t unreasonable and would have been very simple to accommodate. Read morePoor customer service and poor management. I downloaded the app and it said free ice cream when signing up! Not only that but I also received an email saying that if a buy an ice cream scoop I will get another one for free. I was very excited to receive these offers (it was national ice cream month by the way). So, when I went with my sister and cousin, the first thing I did was wish the gentleman who was working happy national ice cream month and he didn't even know what that was. After that I showed him the free ice cream offer with signing up and he refused coming up with an excuse saying that it's only at select locations, however it was not mentioned at all, not even in fine print. Then I showed him him my email about the ice cream and he said the same thing, even though the offer was not restricted to certain locations. So I left and sent an email to marble slab on the same day and the only response I got was okay well look into it and until now absolutely nothing was done to satisfy a customer.
