The food here looks and smells amazing and I would love to give a review of what my experience eating here was. However I can't do this because the service that I received twice was terrible. My first experience was not one for myself. I was picking up In order that had been processed through Urban Eats. When I arrived the young woman behind the counter told me that it would be 30 minutes before my order was complete. Although inconvenient this is not necessarily unusual As many establishments will cook to order to ensure a delivery order is fresh for the customer. I told them no problem and that I was going to pick up a second order that I had that Uber Eats had sent me. I proceeded to run up the road to the other establishment pick up that second order and come back within 15 minutes. When I arrived back at the restaurant and asked the young woman what the progress on my food was I was told that they forgot to put the order in and it would be yet another 30 minutes. At this point I informed my customer of the situation and they advised me to cancel the order and they would order from somewhere else. For me this was aggravating because the young woman when telling me that it would be another 30 minutes had a smile on her face and a tough luck attitude. I can understand the things get busy and sometimes mistakes will happen but when speaking to a customer you probably shouldn't have an attitude of what are you going to do about it. My second experience was actually trying to go in and order food for myself. This was a few weeks later and I had decided that the food looked too good and smelled too good for me not to at least give it a second try. Upon entering and making my order I was told it would be a few minutes. Again this is no big deal as good food takes time to prepare and I'm perfectly happy waiting. However after about 25 minutes I went to the counter to ask about my order. I was not upset just wanted to know how much longer it would be. I was told by the young woman behind the counter that she could not find my order and was not aware that I had ordered anything. I produce the receipt that I had been given to show that I had indeed not only ordered but paid for my meal. The young woman at the counter told me there's nothing I can do for you if you want to eat something you're welcome to order and pay for it. When I asked to to speak to somebody else regarding my issue I was told she was the only one I could talk to. My aggravation as you might imagine wasn't just from the long wait but the fact that I had paid for food and was now told I would not receive it and the lack of empathy from the young woman behind the counter. This experience was with two different individuals and I have seen that this place has received a lot of great reviews Both for the food and the service. I truly hope that my experiences were unique to what the services is normally like at this restaurant. However my My experience was so dissatisfying I couldn't just not say something. Whoever's running this restaurant you might want to have a conversation with your front end staff and remind them that without the customers the restaurant doesn't make money and if the restaurant doesn't make money they likely...
Read moreThe place and service is great. The ladies are very well sweet. However the food not so flavorful. We started going when there was not a lot of tables. Now you go, and is cluster and you have to walk around tables to sit at one or go to the bathroom. Your moving chairs as you walk in. Super tight the space. I have been to this place many times And have tried everything in their menu. Actually, I waited to be amused to write this review. The burgers and hotdogs are delicious. But when it comes to the dinner plates not so much. What I’ve tried: Arepa with chicken and cheese- the arepa was soggy, the chicken had NO flavor. they put cold mozzarella cheese on top. They don’t even melt it. 1/10 Beans and rice- the rice tastes 2 days old. The beans was more liquid than actual beans in it. 4/10 the bean soup was tasty. Shrimp tacos- the tortilla had no salt. Shrimp no flavor. It was so dry to eat this taco. IF you choose rice and beans. They give you 1/4 of beans and rice. I felt like a toddler. For the price was not worth at all. 1/10 Churrasco- very tasty meat. Once again the beans and rice was not. 5/10 just because the meat was good Empanadas- 10/10 very good and flavorful. The picante is not picante. So try their garlic sauce Dessert menu- 8/10- delicious Fried cheese, papa yuca must have The portion is super small and not worth the price.
And the reason why we go back is for the burger and hotdog. They are 10/10. But they are not good to eat a good Spanish...
Read moreI ordered from UE tonight and tried the Berraquera Burger, Tocipapa, Carne and Hawaiian Empanadas. The burger was very sweet, most likely from the pineapple sauce. The hamburger patty itself was quite small for the bun. I had to eat just shy of half of the bun and toppings before I got to the meat. The meat was seasoned nicely. Bacon on the burger was chewy (which I love) and the slaw on it was a good combination. It was very wet.
The Tocipapa was equally as sweet. Lots of pineapple sauce on it with what tasted like ketchup and pink sauce (mayo and ketchup). The meat on the fries was pretty dry and it had different ingredients than what was advertised. The description said the Tocipapa had bacon, ham, fries, cheese, potato sticks and lettuce. Mine had bacon, chicken, ham, fries, cheese and corn. It was good, just not what was advertised.
Now, the empanadas... those stole the show. The Carne empanada was so delicious. Crisp outer shell and very tasty meat and potatoes inside. The Hawaiian empanadas were also good. Empanadas are a must order.
I asked to try their sauces, one was pineapple, another was a garlic aioli sauce and the last one tasted like a spicy picante. The spicy sauce was amazing. I put it on the burger to even out the sweetness.
Overall, it was very good Columbian food. It’s a must try...
