My sister and I tried this place because I love Greek food. Prices are reasonable, but we ordered the Gyro platter and hummus appetizer (staples of a Mediterranean restaurant). The hummus had no flavor and was so full of olive oil that you couldn’t mix it in and when you dipped the pita chip in it all you got was an oily fried piece of dough. When we got the platter, there was maybe a quarter cup of gyro meat vs the sides (we got the potatoes, spicy rice and salad). The meat was tender and tasted fine. The sides weren’t bad but we could tell the rice was a pre season packaged rice you can buy at the store lol. They should focus on the gyro meat being the star of the plate and not the sides. Also, pita bread is a side to them, not something that comes with the plate and to me that’s odd because if u go to a restaurant like this else where you get them with your meal regardless. We had to order them and pay extra. Only $1 but I just find it odd it wouldn’t come with it normally or that the waitress didn’t explain this when I said “if there isn’t enough when the plate comes we’ll order more.” Finally, when we got the bill, they wrote “tip not included” at the bottom. 😶 I mean really? I tipped in cash and I always write cash on that line because I don't want to be that person who they shame on social media. The service wasn't horrible and the girls were nice. I did find it odd that they have a picture board for their to go specials and if u walk in to look at it, they follow you and stand next to you while you talk and decided if you're going to order, like you are going to steal something lol I have been going to the mall here since it opened and every place that goes in that spot fails, if they don't change somethings around there soon, I see the same fate for them. Maybe other things on their menu are better but I won't be back to find out. Chris' taverna will always be my...
Read moreI visited this restaurant today, the food was not good at all. The waiter was very nice though. I ordered only a side of hummus and tabouleh. The hummus was extremely plain, and the salad that I ordered was very bitter and did not taste fresh. I’ve eaten at plenty of Mediterranean places to know what the salad is supposed to look and taste like. Also I have close friends who cook this food and I eat their food all the time and when it’s made fresh it does not look or taste like this one did. Even when I eat it the day after the parsley is still fluffy and the tomatoes are still fresh. When I told them that it tasted extremely bitter and not fresh the waiter said he was sorry and walked away. they left it sitting on the table in front of me until I finally asked him to take it away because I didn’t want to sit and look at it while I was eating the hummus. And then somebody came out to talk to me And let me know that they make it fresh daily and that they sold plenty of it today and that I just didn’t like it but there was nothing wrong with their salad. So at that point I just thought that that really wasn’t nice that instead of just saying I’m so sorry, I was told I just didn’t like it. That was not the case. I just know myself how to make freshly prepared Tabouleh. I wasn’t going to argue about it. I don’t think the food is worth it, and I don’t think that the service was good. There’s been so many restaurants That have come and gone in that location in the mall and I would hate to see this will be another one that just comes and go. I would not go back again however I do hope they change some thing around so that they last in...
Read moreMy visit to the Mediterranean Plate began with a stop by the food court in the Wellington Mall. It was late and I was hungry. I was intrigued when I saw the Mediterranean Plate at the rear of the court because I like Greek food and really prefer sitting in a nice environment and being served my dinner as opposed to "eating at the trough." As we approached the Mediterranean Plate to see what they offered on the menu we were greeted by a friendly gentleman who excitedly described one of the specials being offered that day. His description was tantalizing and the price was very good so we decided to try it. The place was nicely decorated and very clean and the staff was attentive and friendly. When the meal arrived we were not disappointed! The portions were large and the entree was nicely seasoned and very flavorful. I took home a nice portion as I couldn't eat it all thus making it an even better value. Thank you Mediterranean Plate for a delightful dining experience. I will be...
