This place started off as a great place when it first opened. Sadly, Iām not sure whatās going on over there anymore. We went last night before a movie, and it was not a good experience. When we first walked in, half the tables were dirty and the bar was full of empty glasses. Now, this would be somewhat acceptable had there been a crowd... but the restaurant was empty. When our server finally greeted us, we told her we had a movie in an hour and she acknowledged. So, we ordered promptly. It took at least 15 minutes to receive our drinks, 25 minutes to receive our appetizer, and about 50 minutes for the food. Now again, we were one of two tables in the whole place.
After receiving our dinners, we needed āto-goā boxes so that we would make the movie on time. One feature that this restaurant used to offer was that you could bring your food in to the movie theater, so we werenāt too worried. However, the theater/restaurant partnership apparently is not a thing anymore. But we had to bring our āto-goā dinners in anyway because we didnāt have time to eat at the restaurant.
Long story short, the service took way too long... the tables and bar were still dirty when we left... the food and drinks were mediocre... and the staff moves very slow. We also ended up being late for our movie after all that.
I hope this restaurant can turn itself around because it is a great location for movie goers. Advice- move with alacrity, keep a clean restaurant, have enough staff, and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCask + Shaker Craft Bar and Kitchen, located in The Mall at Wellington Green, is a favorite spot to meet with friends for enjoying delicious appetizers and wine before catching a movie at the adjacent CMX Cinemas Wellington with which this establishment is partnered.
Some of our favorites on the Cask + Shaker menu include crispy fries with Parmesan cheese and black truffle oil, habanero glazed wings with a mango dipping sauce, and fried calamari dusted with chorizo bits and mango aioli and tomato sauce for dipping.
The happy hour menu is updated often, which keeps things interesting.
For an entree, you canāt go wrong with their churrasco steak, which is topped with chimichurri sauce and served with black beans and rice and plantain crips. We also like their Wagu sliders, which are topped with bacon onion jam and aged cheddar, and are served with Parmesan truffle fries.
They have some lovely hand-crafted specialty cocktails, including mojitos (try the Havana Club AƱejo Mojito) and a basil lemonade (Titoās vodka, blueberries, basil and lemon).
Cask + Shaker has a great selection of draught beers and wine. We like to enjoy the happy hour selection and then each take a glass āto goā to enjoy at the theater next door.
The offerings at Cask + Shaker are great on their own. Add a movie and you have the makings of a fun evening - even on a weeknight -...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy best friend and I had lunch at Cask + Shaker on Wednesday. Everything from the Calamari to fried sweet potatoes, crab cake sliders and the fish was excellant! Everything was wonderful and Nicole really made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant. We had her undivided attention. We had an issue paying the bill since we didn't realize that the credit card reader was down and we normally don't carry cash. Buddy, the manager offered to give us the meal on the house! We do not feel comfortable doing this so I asked about the location for the ATM or would have gone out to a bank. Buddy wouldn't hear of it. Finally Steve and I scrambled around for cash and between us paid the bill and had enough left for a good tip. What a place, I can't believe they would have given us the food. We will be going back and recommending Cask + Shaker to all our family, friends and...
