Hands Down the Best Neighborhood Spot: Neighbor’s Beer and Wine
If you want a place that feels like home with a heartbeat of genuine warmth, look no further than Neighbor’s Beer and Wine. From the moment I walked in on Derby Day, the energy was electric — hats, laughter, and a crowd that truly knows how to celebrate community.
The owners, Bill and Natalie, are nothing short of spectacular. They don’t just run a bar; they cultivate a neighborhood sanctuary where everyone feels welcome, appreciated, and part of something real. Their friendliness and personal touch shine through in every corner of the place — from Cheryl’s attentive bartending to Heidi’s legendary hot dogs outside, this team knows how to make an impression.
Under their stewardship, the space has transformed into a brighter, more inviting hub, balancing tradition with fresh new energy. The non-smoking policy inside makes it comfortable for everyone, while the outdoor seating ensures no one’s left out. Whether it’s watching football, throwing darts, or rocking the Kentucky Derby hats, this is where memories are made.
If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out on one of Englewood’s best-kept secrets. This isn’t just a bar; it’s a community experience crafted with heart. You’ll leave feeling like family — and believe me, you’ll be coming back for more.

Read morehorrible experience. walked in before 9pm on a thursday night while on vacation with my fiancé & his cousins. immediately got nasty looks. the bartender asked for all of our id’s to be in there (4 out of 5 of us being 21) we told her straight up that the one wasn’t 21 and that she was going to eat. she got denied for being under 21 so 2 people in our party left. left in the bar was myself (21) , my fiancé (22) and his cousin (23) .. minutes after the bartender staring baffled at our out of state id’s she finally comes to tell us she can’t serve us and that we have to leave. the funny thing is that we’re all of age , just seemed like a miserable local bartender that only wanted to serve her few regulars beers. just a shame that i couldn’t have told her to scan the id’s beings the fact the bar was so run down.. they obviously didn’t have a scanner. there were only 2 people in there anyways so it was probably for the better. lost 5 people’s money tonight...
Read moreWe’ve been in a handful of times and have always been made welcome. The new owners are wonderful and include everyone in the fun, not just regulars or their friends which is how it was with the past owners - who I see left a 1 star review because they took down the old decor? It’s a new bar with a new owner, of course they’re going to make it their own!! I personally love the scaled down decor. The beer is cold, the staff is nice, Natalie and the crew do lots of great things to help better the community (50/50’s etc) and, like I mentioned, you always feel welcome and you can find something fun going on pretty much any day they’re open!! It should definitely be the stop you make when everything else closes so early on/near Dearborn, but you still want the night to go on!! Looking forward to more good times...
