Cafe 776 — Restaurant in Florida

I would give 5 stars if this was only about our server Donna and the food... I want to recommend Cafe 776 because the food has always been great and we want to highlight an exceptional server, Donna, as she went above and beyond to make it work for our party of 8 when all the other staff was telling us it just wasn't in the cards, no matter how long we were willing to wait, there would be no putting together of the only two movable tables. Well just as we had decided to divide our party in order to accommodate still giving this restaurant our business (because it is on the list of traditions when my husband flys to town to visit his brothers) another couple who was seated at the other table saw how disappointed we were and graciously offered to move to the booth so we could all sit together 😍 Donna offered to make it work and took excellent care of us even while we could see she was being chastised by her co-workers for doing so 😡 Well joke is on them, they didn't lose any business because we took up those two tables and Donna had grateful patrons who tipped her well. We will be back as long as Donna is available. Made this group of 8's night as it was our first opportunity in 13 years to dine together, well done Donna for making customer service a high...

Dive! Although the food is good, the service is aweful. The staff (all of them) act as if they are doing you a favor by serving you. We sat down just prior to prime dinner hours when there were still multiple open tables. We ordered drinks and food at the same time, and yet we watched as virtually every table in the restaurant was served food before us (including those who sat down well after us). We inquired multiple times as to the wait and we were dismissed each time with "your order is in" and "we have alot of tables." We stood up to walk out after nearly an hour, only to have 1 of 7 meals miraculously ready. Over the following 8 minutes we got all of our food. The host came over and argued with us about why we should understand their difficulty in dealing with so many orders, our waitress apologized once, after we waited all that time, and the other waitress made rude comments under her breath as we complained about the ridiculous wait. The only reason I give Cafe 776 2 stars is that we did get to eat and it was palatable. But if you're going out to spend money someplace......

Went in really wanting fresh caught sea food, only to be met with news that its frozen. I really appreciated my server being honest with me! But with fishing boats leaving every day to catch new stuff, not ten miles from the location, I was a bit disappointed. Especially at the price point of the frozen fish they were serving was the price point for fresh caught. But the portions I saw coming out made more sense as to why they charged so much. Also adding fresh caught would give your chefs some creative freedom! And change your menus frequently! Sticking with what you know only keeps the same old customers!

But they redeemed themselves with their friendly fast service, and their amazing Reuben Sandwich piled high with corned beef and a blanket of cheese. Not the best Reuben I've ever had, but it was darn good and hit the spot!

I would come again because I like places like this. Just some areas, which if fixed, would make them one of the best...
