Wife and I have been coming here regularly for 11 years, mostly for breakfasts on Sundays. Has always been good, but have been noticing a downward trend the past few months. Friday morning went for breakfast and we ordered omlettes. They came out really quick and were runny. Was obvious they use liquid eggs and the cook undercooked them. Veggies inside were barely warm. That night we went for dinner since neither of us felt like messing up the freshly cleaned kitchen, and would have to go out for some ingredients anyway. Wife ordered meatloaf, I ordered fried seafood dinner. Her meatloaf came out in crumbles as if someone had simply seasoned ground beef and browned it, and some chunks were straight up burnt to a crisp. We told the waitress and she just kinda blew it off and I asked why would the cook allow that to leave his kitchen. The gravy was so salty you would get dehydrated off a single single spoonfuls. Waitress said ir comes out different every time, which indicates the cook doesn't follow any kind of recipe for consistency. All of my food tasted frozen, and past its good date. We couldn't finish our meals. I've always had a gripe that despite the name there is nothing "new england" about the place: no Yankee pot roast, baked beans, or other standard new england fare. They do occasionally have clam chowder, and a lobster roll I tried once which I would swear was imitation meat. Also prices have been rising. We use to be able to get out for under $30 (not including tip) but past 2 times have been over $40 with quality slipping. Won't be back for a...
Read moreWaitstaff were NOT wearing masks Looked clean, but the food is mediocre at best and lacks any sort of creativity. Just "basic" foods, which I can make at home, there's no WOW factor here. They have a pastry counter but in my opinion they looked store bought to me, except "maybe" the muffins. I had the Chicken Caesar Wrap which contained more lettuce than chicken and caesar dressing was far from caesar dressing, a tiny bag of chips and a pickle for $7.99, not a great value. Waitress was very friendly and pleasant but the rest of the staff seemed rude and unwelcoming, including a young balding man behind the waitress pickup counter who appeared to be snickering at me while I was there and a young woman with shoulder length blonde hair asked me why I was taking pictures, like taking pictures of restaurants you've visited is some new thing in 2021. Unfortunately, I will not be going back...
Read moreHave been here many times but today will be the last. The building is old, mold on the ceiling. Upon entering the whole place was hot! We picked a table in the back that was rocking back and forth, the second table was not clean and the particle board was coming up and chipped….there was food all over under the tables, the butter for the pancakes, 2 were already open in the bowl seeping out. The food was awful compared to previous visits, the pancakes were totally different and not flavorful at all. The waitress did not check up on us too see if I needed a drink refill, I did. Upon leaving the cashier asked about a tip, first we were not going to give one for such poor service but said $2.00. The cashier looked at me funny like…..what are you expecting $5.00 $10.00?!?! Go elsewhere, the place has turned into a nasty, dirty diner with...
