The quality of a good restaurant is not necessarily its size, but the quality of its food and the service and caring of its staff. Along that line, I enjoyed Nino Pizza of A1A as one of the finest dining experiences I've had in the small diners. Regrettably, Nino Pizza of Lakewood Park (Satellite Branch) is not among these gems and primarily because of the one waitress and behavior of its manager "Kevin" to our concerns. We recently moved to Lakewood Park and were very happy to know that we can still enjoy Nino’s Pizza in our neighborhood. However, after visiting the restaurant we were shocked to see how rude the staff is, particularly one of the waitresses and specially the manager. We ordered a large cheese pizza for the kids with pepperoni on one side. Also ordered some drinks. The waitress who was serving us looked like she was forced to do this job, because she started taking our order with an attitude and being rude. When she brought the drinks, I asked her to replace one of them because it didn’t taste well. Instead of simply taking and replacing it, she looked doubtful, showed an attitude and grab the drink angrily and brought the other drink half the glass as replacement, saying: “Try this”. Now looking back at it I wouldn’t be surprised if she did spit in it. Anyhow we were patiently waiting for the pizza to arrive. Once she brought the pizza there were hardly any cheese on it (picture attached), but a lot of red sauce with a few pieces of tomatoes. The kids refused to have it. Therefore, they shared their mum’s pasta order. After we asked for the bill, we were surprised to see that on the bill there was an extra $8.00 charge for the pizza. I asked the waitress if this is a mistake and she rudely told me that this is just what we ordered, and she will call the manager. The first impression I got of the manager was that he looked sloppy however later I understand that he also thinks sloppy and act sloppy. His aprons were not tight, hanging to sides, not shaved, not a professional attitude. As soon as he approached our table instead of listening to us, he started immediately interrupting and arguing, insisting on that we are not right, and the waitress is right and polite. Even after he looked at the leftover slice of pizza and admitted that there was no cheese at all and nothing like Margarita showed on menu, he said that he cannot judge by one this slice of pizza. Please look at the picture attached; you will be able to see the difference. Understanding that he is not going to listen and pointless to try to cross the message to him, I asked where in the menu showed that an Extra $8 needs to be added on top of the bill, to which he tried hard to look at the menu to prove his point but then he gave up and since he couldn’t find anything there he just announced that he is not intended continue with the conversation and walk away. After paying the bill and leaving very disappointed, that the manager managed to totally ruin our Saturday day out with the kids, we decided to never return to this restaurant and still enjoy Nino’s extraordinary pizzas located on A1A. From my experience being a frequent restaurant visitor, I understand that rarely disagreement can occur, and the job of the manager is to be able to resolve this type of issues professionally. However, I never met in my life such an unprofessional and arrogant manager such as the manager of Nino’s Pizza of Lakewood Park. This is just a sad example of how successful businesses with established reputation stop caring about their customers and don’t want to take their...
Read moreI walked in originally to place a to go order, decided to dine in & order food for some family members to go afterwards, when I was speaking to that family member on the phone on face time on the same side where the phones are ringing loudly amongst most of where their take out ordering and traffic seem to take place, a man, employee or whomever decided to WALK by me and tell me to “turn my volume down” on my phone with whom I was having a conversation with..” Bc I’m in a restaurant with others dining… “
Here we go.. so the loud constant phone ringing less than 3 ft away from where you sit in the “dining” room far exceeds the volume of my FaceTime call alone, in addition to the loudness that surrounds you when people are sitting, talking and also utilizing their phones.. What I found interesting is I was sitting by myself on the other side of this dining room and about 3-4 tables on the other side with parties of two or more talking loudly .. but that wasn’t a bother? No problem .. needless to say I gave 1 star bc atleast the waitress was kind, smiled and served my food which was pretty good! I’m not a nasty consumer, but I will speak up and use this platform to share my experience Bc it wasn’t the food or service I had a problem with it, it was how I was spoken to in a manner that I’m sure he wouldn’t appreciate someone speaking to his mother, wife, sister or daughter that way.. I also own and run a small business and one old school saying of how you say or ask something not necessarily what you say goes a long way.. and let’s be clear you want to omit unnecessary noise in your dining room, maybe check with the unnecessary conversations your staff seems to have where consumers can clearly hear while waiting to pay &/or pick up their take out orders.. ..just a suggestion. Please note substitutions of a different cheese and vegetable cost you $3 even though those ingredients are already INCLUDED with the item..I have ordered this same item via take out and tonight while “dining” I had the pleasure of paying the up charge :) I love supporting local businesses especially in an area where I am invested in, it’s a shame I can’t continue to patronize this...
Read moreI've been going to Ninos since 2013 and will never go again. I recently ordered the chicken parmigiana with a side of fries for lunch to go. Underneath the chicken I found a small dead roach 🤢. When I called to let them know, the response I got was a very defensive "we don't have bugs in our kitchen". They did offer me a refund and asked me to bring the meal back (which I immediately threw away as I was disgusted). Why they wanted it brought back I don't know, but I offered a picture. I was not able to go back for the refund until 2 days later. When I went back in, I did get a partial refund but no apologies. The gentleman providing the partial refund acted as if I should be so grateful to receive the refund. I expected that having been a long time loyal customer, my complaint would have been received with more empathy and concern for my experience rather than being so defensive. I was very discrete making sure not to let other diners hear our conversation or why I was there. I was very understanding about having found a bug in my meal through the entire process. The gentleman in charge was still very defensive as if though I was making it up and stated it was impossible for one little bug to get into their place of business. They made me feel as if I should be the one apologizing and that I was inconveniencing them. Before this, when I'd come in everyone was pleasant and friendly. This time around I felt so uncomfortable while in there, due to the unwelcoming looks I received from some of the staff. I don't know what was worse the bug in my food or the bad attitude and unprofessional mannerisms of the staff. I'm writing this review as I'm very disheartened about the way I was made to feel having been a loyal customer for 5 years. I don't believe this was handled fairly or...
