I've eaten and enjoyed pizza at nearly 100 establishments all over the world, so when it comes to pizza I know what I'm talking about. I've created 7 sub-categories to better review the pizza. All sub-categories are rated out of 10 stars- 10 being the best.
Crust- 7/10 stars-The crust is thin New York style crust which is the perfect texture to fold over and eat. Its even a bit thinner than typical new York style crust. However, the taste is a bit bland. The texture is ideal but the flavor is lacking.
Sauce- 6/10 stars. The sauce uses decent quality tomatoes but is a touch bland. Additionally, the amount of sauce per pizza is light-even for New York style.
Cheese- 9/10 stars- My favorite part of any pizza...The cheese is higher than average quality and melts together well; its not chewy. Its smooth and tasty. This cheese creates amazing oils when its heated together with meat toppings.
Toppings- 8/10 Stars- the toppings are tasty and flavor packed, however they are lacking. The toppings are all cut thin and while tasty they could be more plentiful.
Service- 8/10 stars- This is a pay first, seat yourself mom and pop informal type pizza joint. The only issues I've had in the 30+ times I've eaten there have been over the phone. They are slow to answer the phone and on a few occasions they don't answer at all- but that is rare and usually only when they are super busy which seems to be between 12pm -1:30pm during the week.
Cleanliness- 9/10 This place is very well taken care of. The restaurant is clean and additionally the one unisex bathroom is always clean, orderly and stocked. The only times I've had an issue is tables are sometimes not cleaned in a timely manner after being used-but that is not the norm.
Price/value- 6/10 stars. The overall product ( the pizza) is excellent but you will pay for it. This pizza joint has higher prices than average, and as mentioned earlier, the toppings are scarce with the exception of the cheese, which is plentiful. Additionally, there are NO napkins on any of the tables. In fact, the napkins are behind the counter and you must ask for them first. If you are really craving a sausage pizza ( for example) you should order their largest 18" size and just pay for double toppings. Yes, you are paying more- but if you can afford it, this is the best way to go at this...
Read moreI recently stopped by Pizza D-Lux for lunch, and I have to say, it was a great experience. I went with their lunch special, which includes two slices of pizza and a drink. I topped mine with pepperoni, sausage, and banana peppers, and it was absolutely delicious. The crust was crispy on the outside but still had a nice chew, the sauce had a great balance of sweetness and tang, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. The sausage had just the right amount of seasoning, the pepperoni had that perfect crispy edge, and the banana peppers added a nice tangy kick.
My buddy got his slices with pepperoni and onion, and he also ordered some garlic bread on the side. I tried a piece of the garlic bread, and it was amazing—golden brown and crispy on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside, with just the right amount of garlic flavor. It paired perfectly with the pizza.
The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was laid-back, making it a great spot for a quick and satisfying meal. If you’re in the area and craving some solid pizza, I definitely recommend checking out Pizza D-Lux. I’ll...
Read moreI'm giving this place one star specifically on customer service. My family and I came in one night and waited about an hour for one large pizza. There are tables to eat at but you are not being served, as you get you own drinks and what not. Considering the long wait and the food court style of seating, we decided to call ahead so we didn't wait so long at a table (as we do have two small children). We planned to eat when we got there. When we arrived, we waited a few short minutes to get our pizza, had plates and drinks on our table... When we got it, we we're forced to leave because we "called ahead". We we're told that was not their policy and then my husband, two small children and I we're forced out. When speaking to the owner, he was rude and insisted we left. We could have at least got a "for the future, you cannot call ahead if youre sitting inside". (Which I still don't understand considering they do not serve you?!) We were literally forced to leave. Not only was it rude but it was embarrassing. And no where was this "policy" listed. For pricey half-way decent pizza, I would...
