I don’t typically leave negative reviews but felt compelled to after getting ripped off here and forced to pay an undisclosed service fee of 18%, for a terrible experience. We paid the service fee and were then asked to tip on top of that too. I’ve had better service and food down the street at jalapeños, for half the price. This place is flat out ripping people off. Service: We were the closet table to the kitchen- and yet we received the worst service I’ve had in years. We were hungry for authentic Mexican food and saw this was in the area with great reviews. We were ignored by the biggest waitstaff I’ve ever seen for a restaurant whose capacity is only 76 people. We had three different waitresses and yet the service was somehow still awful! I asked for water and watched our waitress walk up to the counter- stand next to a giant pitcher of water- get on her phone and talk to her coworkers- then proceed to stand next to the jug of water and not bring us any. Instead, we had to wait fifteen minutes for someone else to bring it. When they finally brought us the water it had ice in it and was somehow STILL hot. I wish I was joking. Did I mention our table was right next to the kitchen, six feet behind all the waitstaff!? Food: The guacamole doesn’t come with chips, you have to order those separately. We ordered the guacamole with chicharron - the chicharrones were hard as a rock, and the fat was so chewy it was like swallowing a rock! It was burnt to a crisp practically. I kept having to spit it out. I ordered a birria quesadilla, and my husband ordered a chimichanga. After waiting for what felt like an eternity for our food bc it was pretty obvious 1 of our 3 waitresses forgot to put the order in with the kitchen- my quesadilla was sopping wet! It had a gross puddle of water under it. The most disgusting thing I’ve ever been served- I took one bite and couldn’t eat the rest of it. The chimichanga doesn’t even come with rice and beans either- considering how much you’re paying for a plate it most definitely should. At the end of the meal, with a big smile on her face, 1 of the waitress told us about the mandatory service charge and the extra tip on top of it. Truly unbelievable. If you don’t want to be ripped off, steer clear.

Came here with my son to enjoy a late lunch. We were exploring new spots in our area and this place had high ratings and large number of reviews. We figured it was an automatic winner. Unfortunately we were slightly disappointed relative to the reviews we saw. When we walked in we were promptly greeted and sat down quickly. The staff was friendly so we were off to a good start. The menu looked promising so we got to ordering. We started off ordering a mango juice and waters, and as an appetizer Cheese dip with shredded beef. The mango juice was good and the Cheese dip was ok. The cheese had an oatmeal like texture and the beef was abit dry. The chips were a tad greasy but doable. Not terrible, not amazing. For the main plate my son ordered the quesadillas and I ordered the 3 taco platter (shredded chicken). The presentation looked great but the food itself was ok. The chicken was a bit dry. The rice and refried beans were average, so again, not terrible but just didn't match up to the ratings and what we were expecting. The service was where we dropped it from a possible 4 to a 3. We had to order water for my son 4 times before they finally brought it out. They never checked in on me to refill the water I had so basically was dry 1/2 way through the meal. One of the servers that was attending us seemed more interested in soliciting a Google review to the people next to us then getting us the water we requested. They weren't mean or unpolite, nice people. They were just either in the weeds ( although not super busy) or just don't have the basic training on how to manage their tables. None the less a subpar experience relative to their rating. The ambiance was nice, cool art work and all that but the core function of being a restaurant is a solid 3.0 based on this experience. I suspect that what is driving their ratings higher is them soliciting reviews at time of check for some possible incentive as we witnessed first hand. The food is pricey and I would definitely note they already include an 18% service charge which if you don't catch they will ask for more tip. We had a fine lunch but probably won't be coming back with the rest of the fam.

Came here for dinner yesterday March 29, 2023. We were seated for some time and served chips and salsa, as well as our elote appetizer, without being given napkins or silverware. The chips were greasy and the salsa was actually tomato paste and tasted like ketchup. It's hard to ruin salsa especially if you're a Mexican restaurant. The elote was okay. Just okay. We had to ask for lime to give it more flavor. We were already off to a weird start but we were trying to go with the flow and were hoping our food would be tastier. As we waited for our food, I was looking around at other diners and all of them looked unsatisfied and had left most of their rice and beans untouched. I should have taken this as a sign but we had already ordered our meals. I ordered shrimp enchiladas. They were a mess and the whole plate was a puddle of mushy food except for the rice which was HARD and dry. See photos attached. It felt like the rice had been cooked and sitting for days prior to being served. The beans had no flavor. They were a mix between refried and regular beans and they were watery and creepy. The shrimps were not seasoned, not even with basic salt and pepper. We tried to let the staff know we were not content but they brushed us off and ignored it. We should have sent our foods back and refused to be charged for the meals but we were so annoyed and just wanted to leave. The music is a bit too loud and the restaurant itself is too cold. If you look through the reviews, it appears the owner/employees/families are leaving good reviews to hide the authentic reviews from regular patrons which were also unhappy with the quality of the food. All of the good reviews are essentially the same. We will not be returning to this restaurant and will continue to look for a good mexican local spot.

I'm giving this place two stars because the live performance they had was really nice and really good and I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt that we went on an off day. I went here last night for a birthday date for my partner's birthday. The place looks bigger on the outside then the inside and all these tables are super close together, thankfully there was no wait But the table we were given was right in a corner next to the stage we were closed in by the stage high chair storage and any other table around us, they had to tell another table to a porch in to make space so the area wasn't blocked off anyway we were super excited to be there because we've been watching all these Miami food influencers post fantastic reviews and the food looked fantastic. To say we were dissatisfied and disappointed was an understatement. We felt the place was severely understaffed because we had more than one server come to us but even with so many people helping with our table the service was lacking again maybe they were super overwhelmed. We got someone to our table for drinks maybe 10 -15 minutes later we ordered a 2x1 LIT & two waters. They got to our table about 15 minutes later The LIT's were small and as a bartender myself they were more of a watered down Coke and vodka than anything. Also we got our waters mid way through our actual meal. It took someone another fifteen minutes to come take our order after the drinks were given to us . We got two plates of birria tacos and an elote appetizer. The elotes were just unseasoned corn with mayo and cheese. They were messy, but they forgot to give us any utensils and napkins. About another 15-20 minutes the tacos came out. I've had birria tacos before, when I say these were the saddest looking tacos, they were super under seasoned the consumé had no flavor and super greasy and oily they were super plain, they looks like regular tacos but unflavored and under filled the rice and beans also tasted weird. Halfway through our meal we finally were able to flag down the staff for some waters and napkins and utensils. We didn't stay for dessert. Please note there was live music and because we were so close we couldn't even talk to each other even if we were screaming. It took us another 20 minutes to be able to flag someone for the check. Remember gratuity is included which I did not know they have the portable card readers, we were not shown a check she flashed us the original price we she grabbed a card charged it showed us the tip option stayed there looking at me while i chose and then walked away no goodbye no you're all set no we were not given a receipt to sign or a copy we got up and walked away dumb founded As someone who is in hospitality especially food service this was one of the worst experiences I ever had this place gives advertises one thing but...
