Okay is the New Yorker myself you always search the city for something that reminds you of home. This of course is easier said than done because a lot of your favorite pizza shops that open up in about 2 years end up with different ownership and a downgrading quality while they uptick the price.
Is this top tier New York style pizza? No. For that I recommend Papa Ds over in Dr Phillips. But is it still good pizza for your local neighborhood that is better than Papa John's or Pizza Hut, absolutely.
I got the comically large jumbo xl pepperoni and the garlic knots this is a massive pizza, you can see by the picture what I'm talking about. It was good, I will warn you because the slices are so big you do lose a lot of that crispiness of the crust. The garlic knots were terrible though, the only flavor you got was from the limited garlic butter on top, but the bread itself had no flavor, none. They also upcharge for dipping sauce on the garlic knots which is not common in proper pizzerias.
When you call over the phone they're going to say it's ready in 15 minutes, the reality is more like 30, the location is terrible, it's an absolutely filthy gas station lot, it's not well taken care of, but hey sometimes the best food is not in the prettiest of places. But I do recommend it over the chain pizzerias in the area. And it's nice to see that it's been there for a...
Read moreI came across this restaurant while in town for the holiday. I gave it a try based on reviews, most of which I'm now convinced must be fake.
When I called, I asked about delivery and gave my location. The guy didn't even bother to ask for an address but only said he had no idea where I was. I was 2 miles away in a hotel. Businesses are usually familiar with what's in their area, especially hotels.
I arrived to pick up my order to see two drunk guys hanging out in front of the restaurant with open cans. The employee was talking to them, so I guess he knew them. Someone else came out of the restaurant and said something so that the two guys stumbled around to the side of the building. I guess they thought they were out of sight.
When my boyfriend went inside to pay, they decided to charge us double what it cost for a pizza. Lucky for them I was hungry.
New York pizza? Nah.The pizza was just "ok". Not particularly flavorful. It just became something to put on our stomachs. I will never order...
Read moreTo start it off, the girl on the phone was horribly rude. She could not understand me or my address. I called at 7:03pm and it was delivered at 8:15pm after I was told it would be approx 35 minutes. The driver (same as the employee on the phone) showed up and admitted our pizza was probably cold. She still made us pay--obviously we left no tip. Sure enough, our pizza was cold. Not just warm, or room temp.... I mean cold, as if the box had been open the whole time. We also ordered a flavored crust--which was not correct. We had this place once before since moving into the area and it was "ok" but the service was great. We decided to try it again and have it be a make or break deal.
It was definitely a break. I have not even finished my first slice of pizza--I had to warn others not to order from them this weekend! I am just super disappointed as pizza is our favorite meal and we were excited to have a pizza place close...
