Terrible food, even worse service. Stay away from this place at all cost.
I went there with 4 family members on a Saturday for lunch. We decided to order from the menu because we were excited to see the Pomfret, Lobster and Rahu entree options.
The menu stated that all entrees come with white rice, and that we can upgrade our meal by adding a naan for 75 cents. To us that meant that for 75 cents we could add a naan to the meal (which already consisted of an entree and white rice). When we tried to confirm that with our server, he said, "I don't mean to be rude, but when you go for an upgrade you don't get both rice and naan. When you buy an economy seat in an airplane, and you upgrade to first class, you don't get both the economy seat and the first class seat. Do you understand?" He was rude and had a mocking demeanor.
We were all shocked and didn't know what to say. We weren't expecting an impromptu lesson in English from the server. In hindsight we should have just left then; not sure why we didn't.
After the food arrived, the server didn't come around even once to check up on us. He showed up when we were almost done. I wanted to clarify with him that we were just confused about the 'upgrade' option earlier, so no hard feelings. He then proceeded to say, "I have been working here for 2 years, and I have never seen anyone having this much problem with this." We were all horrified, and my 61 year old dad felt humiliated enough to walk out immediately.
Not to mention that the precious rice that they are wholeheartedly trying to save by offering a whopping 75 cent discount on the naan price (naan costs $1.75) came out cold and hard. The Lobster and Shrimp Masala was overcooked to the point that they tasted like an eraser. We didn't bother to communicate any of this to the server.
Oh and we got charged 18% gratuity because we were a party of 5.
Orlando doesn't have a scarcity of Indian and Bangladeshi restaurants. I recommend finding another restaurant where they will serve you decent food and...
Read moreI want to start off by saying that the buffet here is fairly good and the food a la carte is even better. However, I rated a one star do to the bad customer service, I experienced today. I’ve been an Ahmed’s Customer even before the restaurant expanded and remodeled. I was a customer through the chaos of COVID and post COVID. But today I experienced a very uncomfortable situation and was very disappointed by how the staff handled the situation. I had lunch today during peak hours and there was a small line of 3 ppl ahead of me. I made the line waiting to be attend and minutes later a lady came in, skipped everyone on the line and spoke to the guy at the front. She said she had a party of five and asked how long was the wait. He then wrote her name and she sat down in the waiting area. The guy then asked me and my party for our name. The problem was during sitting time. The lady that came after us was called first. I was livid…I told them at the front no your not. We were here before this lady. She didn’t even have the common courtesy to respect or excuse herself with all the ppl waiting in-line before her. Eventually we got seated. We were there for a total of 25 minutes and the waitress not once offered us refills or water or picked up our dirty dishes we were completely ignored and rejected. I have been coming here for a very long time with my family. I even participate in their reward system. Mistake happen all the time but the way it was held and how we were blatantly ignored was just awful and extremely uncomfortable and what was shocking to me was the nonchalant and shameless attitude of the lady that skipped the line, and passive aggressive behavior of the staff. Was I supposed to allow disrespect and not say anything?...
Read moreThe food was excellent. We ordered the garlic naan, roasted pappaddums the sauce for me was spicy ( I have a hard time with chile) but they are to die for chicken tikka and vegetable samosas with tamarind sauce and corriander/ mint sauce, simply yummy. Our main course was butter chicken which came with basmati rice and vegetable curry. Both yummy and truly perfection. Most important is that the food was not greasy nor was it dripping with oil which by the way is a complete turn off for me. The sweets of course I ordered the rice malai yummy for pistachio lovers out there they drizzle some on top and a little into the sauce. It has cardamon but a hint and of course rose water. I am biased to cardamon and I wished they put more. The service was excellent. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the food and very polite and she always asked after every dish if everything was to our satisfaction. The place is clean and humbly decorated a little on the simple side but the food is excellent. For Covid they clearly had tables marked with a huge blue tape marked X so basically every other table was being used. Every person was wearing a mask. I did not use their bathroom facilities so I cannot say anything. I would suspect it would be as clean and hygienic reflecting everything else. The menu is so well laid out with pictures and explained even an idiot can order from it. Best part was the music of course after the food. I was shazam(ing) every song. If you have not tried Indian and would like to go, change of palette, culture you will enjoy it and I fully recommend this place. A...
