Awful experience that left a bad taste in my mouth of this restaurant. In terms of sanitation, service, and cooking. I've ordered chicken Biryani for a pickup. I've been asked to add a tip , I can not honestly do that until I eat the food and asses the service first. Plus I picked my own food inside the restaurant. When I got home , as I was eating the food, and there I found an apricot pit that I almost chewed on, and God knows I would've broken a molar with that pit in the Biryani There was no apricot in the Biryani, which I wondered how that pit ended in my food , flag 1 one with sanitation and food combining . The taste was blunt and disappointing . They used cheap rice instead of basmati, unfortunately. The lack of seasoning was very pronouced , it tasted like they simply dissovled a chiken bouillon into the rice and called it a day , as I was running the fork through it there was a lot of chunks of sticky and plain rice not blended with spices . The chicken meat used was mainly chicken breast , it had a very rubbery texture , not well cooked and very thick it looked like a bunch of cubbed up plastic and hormone pumped chicken breast in this dish. The spices were absent , and there were no cashews or raisins in the Biryani. Just roughed up pieces of parsley , not even chopped, and the worst part, there was parsley stems chopped up It was a sloppy Biryani something an amateur cook could do better job of making. I've had Biryani for decades now , I can clearly tell if it's well executed or not . Unfortunately, this was not . A complete turn-off No, thank you.

Been to several indian restaurants before. Love the food. Ahmed restaurant is an excellent place. The buffet is smaller but still hot and very fresh. The naan is amazing. Loved everything that I had; rice, tiki masala, goat curry. This place is awesome and lunch buffet is pretty reasonable (8.95). Going again soon with family. :) Update Dec 2021: Been coming here for close to 10 years now. I love this place. I love the food, and the Naan is always hot and fresh. This place is more than a restaurant, it's part of my life. I'll always love this place, and hope it continues to serve food for a long time. The buffet is now $10.95 and a great deal with all the offerings they have. Update March 2024: This place is amazing. Buffet price is $12.99/person and it has a very good variety. This has been a steady staple in a world of change for me. I have been coming here since sometime in 2011 when I got a $1 off coupon making my (then) $8.95 buffet $7.95 and I have been hooked ever since. Nearly 4 presidential elections, a worldwide pandemic, the aftermath of the great recession, and now exploding growth in florida and this place has been through it all. Thank you Ahmed Indian Buffet for being a beacon of hope and light and consistency in a ever changing world! I will never stop coming here.

Pretty good food. We ordered: chicken tikka masalah, chicken korma, and mutton curry, which were all good. All dishes were medium heat, which was quite mild. We ordered the mutton curry as hot, and it was delicious with the right level of spice. I would recommend a hot option if you're used to eating Indian food. On the downside, the tandoori chicken and dhaal were bland, and so was the biryani chicken. We came here specifically for the tandoori chicken, which was okay. It came on a sizzle plate with a bed of onions and green peppers, which were still raw. The chef could have sizzled the veggies first before adding the tandoori chicken. I don't know why Ian indian restaurant would charge for naan. That should be available for free. It's just flour and water and will get people to order more food. Each of the plates came with the option of either white basmati rice or naan. The naan is good, but I wish they offered more with the plates. Final note, I don't understand why there's a mandatory gratuity for a party of 5 or more. The restaurant was empty, and the server did the same work as any other size party. Yet we were charged 18% gratuity, let me decide what to tip based on service and food quality.

Terrible food, even worse service. Stay away from this place at all cost.

I went there with 4 family members on a Saturday for lunch. We decided to order from the menu because we were excited to see the Pomfret, Lobster and Rahu entree options.

The menu stated that all entrees come with white rice, and that we can upgrade our meal by adding a naan for 75 cents. To us that meant that for 75 cents we could add a naan to the meal (which already consisted of an entree and white rice). When we tried to confirm that with our server, he said, "I don't mean to be rude, but when you go for an upgrade you don't get both rice and naan. When you buy an economy seat in an airplane, and you upgrade to first class, you don't get both the economy seat and the first class seat. Do you understand?" He was rude and had a mocking demeanor.

We were all shocked and didn't know what to say. We weren't expecting an impromptu lesson in English from the server. In hindsight we should have just left then; not sure why we didn't.

After the food arrived, the server didn't come around even once to check up on us. He showed up when we were almost done. I wanted to clarify with him that we were just confused about the 'upgrade' option earlier, so no hard feelings. He then proceeded to say, "I have been working here for 2 years, and I have never seen anyone having this much problem with this." We were all horrified, and my 61 year old dad felt humiliated enough to walk out immediately.

Not to mention that the precious rice that they are wholeheartedly trying to save by offering a whopping 75 cent discount on the naan price (naan costs $1.75) came out cold and hard. The Lobster and Shrimp Masala was overcooked to the point that they tasted like an eraser. We didn't bother to communicate any of this to the server.

Oh and we got charged 18% gratuity because we were a party of 5.

Orlando doesn't have a scarcity of Indian and Bangladeshi restaurants. I recommend finding another restaurant where they will serve you decent food and...

I want to start off by saying that the buffet here is fairly good and the food a la carte is even better. However, I rated a one star do to the bad customer service, I experienced today. I’ve been an Ahmed’s Customer even before the restaurant expanded and remodeled. I was a customer through the chaos of COVID and post COVID. But today I experienced a very uncomfortable situation and was very disappointed by how the staff handled the situation. I had lunch today during peak hours and there was a small line of 3 ppl ahead of me. I made the line waiting to be attend and minutes later a lady came in, skipped everyone on the line and spoke to the guy at the front. She said she had a party of five and asked how long was the wait. He then wrote her name and she sat down in the waiting area. The guy then asked me and my party for our name. The problem was during sitting time. The lady that came after us was called first. I was livid…I told them at the front no your not. We were here before this lady. She didn’t even have the common courtesy to respect or excuse herself with all the ppl waiting in-line before her. Eventually we got seated. We were there for a total of 25 minutes and the waitress not once offered us refills or water or picked up our dirty dishes we were completely ignored and rejected. I have been coming here for a very long time with my family. I even participate in their reward system. Mistake happen all the time but the way it was held and how we were blatantly ignored was just awful and extremely uncomfortable and what was shocking to me was the nonchalant and shameless attitude of the lady that skipped the line, and passive aggressive behavior of the staff. Was I supposed to allow disrespect and not say anything?...

The food was excellent. We ordered the garlic naan, roasted pappaddums the sauce for me was spicy ( I have a hard time with chile) but they are to die for chicken tikka and vegetable samosas with tamarind sauce and corriander/ mint sauce, simply yummy. Our main course was butter chicken which came with basmati rice and vegetable curry. Both yummy and truly perfection. Most important is that the food was not greasy nor was it dripping with oil which by the way is a complete turn off for me. The sweets of course I ordered the rice malai yummy for pistachio lovers out there they drizzle some on top and a little into the sauce. It has cardamon but a hint and of course rose water. I am biased to cardamon and I wished they put more. The service was excellent. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the food and very polite and she always asked after every dish if everything was to our satisfaction. The place is clean and humbly decorated a little on the simple side but the food is excellent. For Covid they clearly had tables marked with a huge blue tape marked X so basically every other table was being used. Every person was wearing a mask. I did not use their bathroom facilities so I cannot say anything. I would suspect it would be as clean and hygienic reflecting everything else. The menu is so well laid out with pictures and explained even an idiot can order from it. Best part was the music of course after the food. I was shazam(ing) every song. If you have not tried Indian and would like to go, change of palette, culture you will enjoy it and I fully recommend this place. A...
