I ordered two double-dough pizzas for my family on a busy Friday evening. I chose to pick my order up so I could personally view their operation.
Although this isn't a dine-in location, the reception area is very neat and tidy. It's apparent that considerable thought went into making this area pleasing and presentable for guests.
There were two friendly staff members at the counter that greeted me when I arrived. My order was ready at exactly the time it was promised.
From what could be seen of the preparation area from the front of the restaurant, it appeared to be exceptionally clean (which is very important to me for obvious reasons).
The best part for my family and me is that the pizzas were made to perfection. All the ingredients were fresh (even the mushrooms) and the crust was like freshly baked bread. Plus, on top of my two "Pick 4" four-topping pizzas was a generous coating of fresh, stretchy mozzarella cheese.
Even the box the pizzas were presented in is different; I've never had one quite like it. Inside, they placed a perforated sheet under the pizza, unlike any I had seen before, to prevent it from sticking to the bottom or becoming soggy. And of course, they also supplied a short, plastic, three-legged, "round table" on top of the pizza to keep it from touching the lid.
Next time, I think I might try ordering one of the many pastas, salads, or sandwiches from their extensive take-out menu. If they're anything like their pizza, I imagine it is sure to be a delightful, mouth-watering experience.
In conclusion, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better pizza experience in Tampa Bay than Rosati's. And yes, the owner is a true member of the Rosati family who appeared to be hard at work leading his crew of pizza makers back in the preparation area during my brief but enjoyable visit.
Be sure to download the Rosati's app and become a member of their rewards program to receive special discounts.
Oh, and just in case you think I was paid for this review, rest assured I have not; nor was I even asked. I've simply taken time to share my experience because until now I hadn't found a pizzeria in the Tampa Bay area that I've truly liked. For me, Rosati's checks all the boxes for takeout pizza.
Next time you're in the mood for pizza, try Rosati's in Valrico and see if you don't agree with my assessment. Tell them Marcus...
Read moreI've ordered delivery from Rosati's two times before. It was when they first opened. I previously had the Chicago style and the double crust pizza, so I decided to try the thin crust this time. The pizza was tasty, and the delivery was quick. The pizza arrived hot and fresh. The crust was crispy like a cracker. I definitely prefer the thin crust over any of their other crust options. I also like the online ordering system, although I didn't see any way to order another topping on a specialty pizza. I wanted to add basil to the white pizza. There was no option other than building your own pizza which would have probably cost a lot more. The 14" thin crust white pizza was $21.99. I'd say about $3 more than other competitors. Is it worth it? Well, it might have been if I had picked up the pizza instead of having it delivered. Instead, I opted to go with delivery.
Long story short. They used to charge $3 for delivery. I always thought that was odd since I live less than 2 miles away. Is it because I have a Brandon zip code and live on the border of Valrico? I have no idea. Well, this time I was charged $6 for delivery. It wouldn't have been a big deal if part of that was for tip. But, it obviously wasn't included because the online site asks you to select a tip. I added a tip because I wasn't sure if the $6 goes to the delivery driver. They charged 88 cents on top of that for paying with a credit card. The pizza with delivery, fees, and tip was around $34. I was okay with it at the time, but now I just feel embarrassed that I actually payed this amount for 1 pizza. I should have just ordered from our usual pizza place. The moral of this story is don't order delivery from Rosati's unless you're using another delivery method. The ending of this story is that I...
Read moreHello friends, new place to try Rosati's Pizza. Big shoes to fill because our pizza joint was sold to a franchise...their pizza changed. I wanted something good...local to take the place of the previous spot. I know pizza....New Haven, CT is home to some of the most notorious pizzerias. Connecticut and Chicago pizzas are very different. Their styles from what water used, to the sauces and cooking styles.... No, two are the same. I am heard two different sides from reviews from Rosati's. I decided to give them a shot for our family night to eat...Wow, that was a major disappointment. Shocking. The food was ready and hot when I picked it up. It had the right order but let me tell you why I'm bummed. First, I ordered a basic pepperoni thin crust pizza for the kids. The cheese was cooked well, regular mozzarella and the sauce was a lil tangy but what really bothered me...it was underbaked. Unevenly cooked in spots. You could see under the pizza not raw but need to be more crispy. Very disappointing. The pepperoni seemed to missing throughout too. Strike one. Next, we ordered a deep dish Chicago style bacon pizza. It was flat. The sauce was tangy again, good crushed tomatoes, good use of oregano but it lacked garlic. The bacon wasn't crispy and the cheese was tasteless... Strike two. Lastly, the cinnamon sticks... Whoff... A no go. Way to much butter, it was drenched in butter and cinnamon. Come on... This wasn't even a try. I took one bite and threw the box out. Luckily, it was free from a coupon. We spent $48 on dinner. I'm looking for the tums. I'm sorry I could have better spent my hard earned money elsewhere. Very disappointing. Definitely a no go. Just bring honest. Until next time friends, remember friends, enjoy what...
