8-25-24 Follow up and update. We were contacted by the manager and were apologized to and asked to give another chance
Sunday we returned to this Ruby Tuesdays. We spoke with the manager, we ate more appetizers, The food again was excellent, and our waitress was charming and attentive throughout.
I believe that the manager did what could be done to appease an unhappy guest. Good customer service is hard to find. I am raising the review from 2 stars to 4 stars, but with the statement that had THIS been our experience the first time, the review would like to have been 5 stars. Again, I encourage people to not be me… read the signage carefully. This could have been avoided in a few ways, and my being more careful is one of them.
Original review 8-19-24 The reason this is a 2 star review… Or, why I won’t be returning to Ruby Tuesday #7121 at 13675 US Hwy 1 in Sebastian, Florida 32958 (I don’t do many bad review posts unless it is worth telling a story, check out my other reviews and see for yourself)
We decided to stop by this location because we missed having access to Ruby Tuesday when so many of them closed.
When we arrived, we noticed the time was about 5:20pm and the large sign on the door said Happy Hour 3pm – 6pm with a huge portion of the sign saying $6.00 apps. Please look at the picture… did you notice the catch??? Yes, in small print, in an almost invisible color it says Bar Only. Folks this is where your intrepid reviewer screwed up. NEVER TRUST ANYONE.
We walked in and were greeted by the hostess, who asked table or booth… we opted for a booth… we were seated about 10 feet from the bar. This is important folks, because a 25.00 dinner was about to become a 45.00 dinner… 10 feet MATTERS.
Our waitress, Bella (1720), came and asked what drinks we would like… Sprite and an unsweet tea. 3.59 each. Then upon returning with the drinks she asked if we wanted to order. We said yes, just appetizers for us tonight. Mozzarella sticks 6.00? no $9.99, potato skins 6.00? nope $11.99 and fried mushrooms also 6.00 you say? Ha $10.99 sucker. Now one would think that since 10 feet matters, that the waitress was kind enough to say, “folks, if you are getting appetizers, I need to let you know that the special is bar only, are you ok with that?” however, that did not happen. She took our order and put it in… we then waited over 30 minutes for our food. Okay, no big deal, a little long for appetizers but not a real complaint.
When the food came, it was excellent… hence the extra star. Everything was cooked well, and the flavors were exactly what we wanted. I will add here that I was slightly disappointed that it was as the check was coming that I was offered a refill on my empty soda… perhaps I am nitpicking, and I perhaps it is not relevant for the review, but we were sitting next to a very large sign saying “please give us a 5 star review on Google and Yelp”. Not exactly 5 star service even if everything else went well since she walked by our table several times without noticing the drinks were low. Let that go Mr. Reviewer, the folks are here for the story.
So, the check comes, and it says 42.97 rather than the expected 25.00. I flag our waitress back down and say… “excuse me, the sign says apps are 6.00.” Let me check she says, I am pretty sure that is only the bar. Upon her return she says, yes that is bar only, you should have read the sign. Fair enough… I really wanted to be a “Karen” at that moment and yell and demand a manager, but I am old folks, old enough to remember when manners mattered. So, I paid my tab and am not going to post my review on every website that allows it. If it helps, my food was not different than it would have been in the bar, it did not come out faster or hotter, it was not served by trained dancing gorillas or in any way different than if I had been 10 feet in a different direction. I am just disappointed in Ruby Tuesday.
I will not return, and I encourage others who understand my frustration to vote with their money as well. Thank you...
Read moreNever have I ever have had to deal with people as disrespectful as the ones in this Ruby tuesday. I had placed an online order but got stuck in traffic by Walmart due to an accident and myself and many others were stuck sitting for a while. I had called the location and let them know that I was very close , however I’m stuck behind an accident out of my control and was wondering if I could have my order remade if possible to ensure I had a hot meal after work… I was assured my Emma that indeed my order will be remade if it sat too long due to the accident. I’m reassured that my food wasn’t sitting long at all and the food was still hot… The food was indeed not hot at all. I call back and I’m trying to explain that the food is too cold, the girl I was talking to huffed and puffed (I can hear her say) I can’t deal with this right now, and hands the phone off to someone even more unwilling to do their job. Edgar, Edrick, whoever “manager” this was told us he doesn’t know why the girl told him they’d remake the food because they “don’t do that” You mean to tell me I spend over $45 to eat cold, soggy, nasty fries and my husband didn’t even finish eating his soggy , disgustingly made hoagie with that weird, thick, curdled looking sauce splashed all over the hoagie and a piece of the hoagie bread was missing. He tells us there nothing he can do and that he’ll contact his DM and give him our info. We ask for the DMs number or a way to contact the DM and he gives us some random number off the Ruby Tuesdays website. Cool. Still haven’t heard back from said “DM” and said “manager” Do not order pick up from this location as they’re a huge disappointment over and over with zero help when your food is soggy and ice cold. You tell me if this is the hoagie you see online or the chili cheese fries for that matter. You can be the judge of that. Trying to eat the food so it’s not waste food and money…from someone who comes from a hospitality background, this was furthest from...
Read moreThis past Sunday (7/7/24) was likely a bad day for this Ruby Tuesday. When we were seated (in the dining area that looked like it had not been cleaned more than a table wiping in weeks) we immediately heard the table beside us upset that their re-do burger was also bad and that they just wanted the check and to leave. The server went from that table right to another table that complained about something that made the server respond with, "Really? No way! I'm so sorry about that" before rushing back to the kitchen. We were hesitant to order food, but ordered anyway, even after peeking into the chaotic and kind of gross looking kitchen area during a walk to the restroom. Mind you, the place was not busy. The three total parties I've mentioned thus far including mine were it. I ordered a BBQ burger medium well that arrived medium rare, leaning rare. The onion rings ordered as a side crumbled in our fingers. The chicken fingers were rock hard to the point that it was genuinely difficult to bite through one. The ribeye in the stuffed ribeye quesadilla was spit out by the two people who had it because it was mostly fat that looked and tasted microwaved. When the regulars came in for happy hour, the server left our table without a word. Another server came to give us the check. (She didn't ask if we wanted anything else, but she did ask if we wanted to donate to charity.) The cold beers were nice, which is why I gave 2 stars. I might try again in a month or so, in which case I'll leave a better review if warranted, but I also might just consider it lucky that nobody got sick and let that...
