Based on local praise and wonderful online reviews I made a pilgrimage to one of their locations adjacent to Collier Blvd. Now, I don’t live in the area, or even FL for that matter, but I do take my ice cream seriously.
The shop itself is enjoyable to walk into, it’s like the perfect neighborhood ice cream shop by aesthetics. There were many flavors to choose from, albeit was too busy for me to sample anything so I went with the banana cream pie shake, which was probably a poor choice for a shake.
I didn’t care for it much, it was a bit too sweet for my tastes and the cake got jammed in the straw and was annoying to clear, but I can tell they did use premium products. The ice cream was very rich, creamy and tasted “expensive”. I’m sure that other flavors may have been better suited for shakes.
I would however return due to the obvious quality of the product. I will reassess my score once I’ve tried another flavor, as this review may be premature but nevertheless I can only go by my experience not what could have been. My family does live in the area so I’ll be back for...
Read moreAçaí bowls are horrible, nothing compared to “The Bowl” on pine ridge road. Firstly they did not have the kind we wanted and we had to pick another. Secondly since it was a “to-go” she asked if we wanted lids and of course, we said yes. Did we get them? No. The place was literally falling apart and to top it all off when we said no blueberries please she ended up give us blueberries. Not real açaí cheap stuff only!
Update: Listen, I don’t live online and get notifications for reviews I make. I was just checking my old reviews today and this was so long ago at this point. However, I do want to say this isn’t “slander” - it was bad service (not enough attentiveness). I asked for no blueberries, received my bowl with blueberries, I asked for lids, got no lids. We were the only customers there too! While the worker was making it the glass from the acaci fridge popped off and that’s what I meant with “the place was falling apart”. Just a lot of disappointments happening all at once. I hope you can understand that. Not a good first impression. I’d like to try...
Read moreI really, really, really thought your acai bowls would be great. I've lived near this location but never tried your treats and always wanted to. The atmosphere was terrific and the staff member that attended me was great. I tried some samples if ice creams which were good but I ultimately decided something with less sugar would be wiser. I nearly daily order the acai bowls from Crisp and Green and wanted to try someone else's for a change. Well the toppings were great. The granola was much softer and cruncher and a great texture than aim used to. But the pitaya and acai were completely flavorless except foe one of them...don't know which was a little sour and had a odor I didn't like. They tasted nearly like flavorless but colorful ice. I know most people probably care more about the toppings but I prefer to focus on a great and flavorful acai or pitaya. I'm just providing my honest review. I'm more disappointed than you know because I had very high expectations and wanted to try your food for so long.
Maybe I'll stop in sometime for...
