Señor Rocoto — Restaurant in Florida

Had the chance to go there this past Saturday for lunch with my wife and I was very skeptical about the whole thing because people have rated this place with such low scores, mentioned bad attitude from servers and I was like uhmmm imma give it a try. Guys, when I tell you this is the most authentic Peruvian food I’ve had, I’m not lying. I had the chance to try Peruvian food in the past and it was as good as this one. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients, portions are HUGE, the inside of the place does not look like previous reviews, it’s so warm, welcoming, cute and very well put together. They have all the goodies, traditional drinks, the chicha morada is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE, the servers are all so sweet and kind and there is no way they’re rude to you. I certainly told the lady that I was very worried about going because of bad reviews but promised I’ll be back because the food is really really good and the service is on point. The best value and taste for the money! This place is not your typical restaurant. It’s daily lunch specials are good and cheap (beats all fast food restaurants). The service is quick and on point for its class. So, if you are looking for a 5 star luxury restaurant service like Bern’s Steak House, this is not the place for you. However, if you want good Peruvian food at a fair price, this is the place for you. WARNING: The menu is set in stone just like at a Chinese restaurant and this is not a place to be asking for variations to the menu. The owners are very good people and have been in the restaurant business for over 30 years. Yes, the owner sometimes may not display the best customer service, but remember they reserve the right to provide service. I reviewed some of the negative reviews and as a Peruvian born, I found them baseless. To those, take a trip to Peru and see if you experience better treatment than you have complained about. Best Peruvian restaurant in Tampa Bay!!!! I have lived in the US for 24 years! Being 10 years in California, travel around US trying many Peruvian restaurants in CA, NY, MD, CT, NV, AZ, you name it and I have never found a good Peruvian place to eat until I found this place. You can’t go wrong when choosing this place “the true taste of Peruvian cuisine”.
