Shrimp Basket — Restaurant in Florida

We arrived and were told to sit wherever we liked. We opted for the patio since we had 3 kids. After waiting 20 minutes we were finally greeted by our server and able to place our drink order and our food order. It took over an hour after that for us to be informed "there was a mix up in the kitchen. Your food will be out shortly". While sitting there... 4 other tables that arrived after us were already eating or finished. We asked if we could just pay for our drinks so we can leave. The kids were beyond their patience level. She said the food is ready to come out now. So we stayed. It came out about 5 minutes later... appetizer and meals. Except one of our kids meals was not even put in. At that point we should have just said forget the food and paid for our drinks and left. But didn't because we had already been there 1.5 hours and the kids were starving. The manager (or I assume that's who it was) brought out the missing kids meal and apologized for the issues. He asked how he could make it better. We had no suggestions because we try to not to be those people. My child didn't eat dinner tonight because they forgot his and then brought it out so hot that even I couldn't pick any of it up so had he tried to take a bite... he would've been hurt. As far as the other food... it was not worth it. The Cajun chicken tenders were tough and dry. My oldest only ate fries because he said the whitefish tenders were the awful. 1 of my toddlers wouldn't eat the chicken tenders she got because they were yucky. My husband enjoyed his seafood boil... so I assume it was okay. We will never ever go back to this location nor will we ever recommend it. We wasted 2 hours and too much money on this place. UPDATE: Owner says to reach out so they can address concerns and improve experience. Nothing comes from that so don't bother wasting your time. They only asked for the date and location and then stopped...

The waiter was kind, but appeared overwhelmed. Did not check in to fill drinks and when we asked for a drink refill an unsweet tea was brought. We kindly asked for a sweet tea. No big deal. Then they came back to inform us that the sweet tea machine was broken. So the waiter just knowingly filled it up with unsweetened tea. That's poor service.

I ordered seafood gumbo that is suppose to come with shrimp, crabmeat, and crawfish. There was no seafood at all in the gumbo. Not even 1 piece of shrimp. I brought this to their attention and told them it wasn't necessary to waste the gumbo and to just skim out some seafood from the pot and bring it to me and I would put it in the bowl. He said it would be easier to just bring me another bowl. He brought another bowl and hurried off. There was no seafood in this bowl either. He didn't check to see or even wait to see if a problem still existed. The base for this gumbo was a strong tomato base compared to the dark roux of the other one. Very odd. I waved down what appeared to be a manager. I explained the situation. She offered to bring me shrimp to put in the gumbo. I declined and asked if she would just bring me a cup of red beans and rice so I would at least have something hot to eat. She said she would. That cup never came. We finally decided to just ask for the checks as everyone else was finished eating.

We used our free appetizer coupon. We were charged the appetizer. They then gave me cash refund for the appetizer which was fine, but it didn't account for the tax.

Despite the poor service and subpar food I was still going to tip, but I was charged tax on the free appetizer and the bowl of gumbo that they removed after tax. The tax still owed to me equaled the 10% tip I would have left. So I left no tip as I was still owed money.

Very horrible experience. I will never come here again. We sat outside to dine in. Once we were seated, they said someone will be right with you. Okay. But then we sat there for 30 mins before a waiter came over to take our drink and appetizer, and main meal order. After 45 minutes, our appetizer (crab claws) came out and we ate that until we started noticing all of the empty tables around us were getting fillled fast. But, this is the part that set me off. Remind you, we have already been seating here for over 1 hour and 15 minutes or so. Everyone around started getting all of their stuff immediately including their main meal. We are sitting here trying to figure what just happened because we still have not main meal and that's when we got up stopped a different employee to ask what that problem was. And sure enough, the waiter had completely forgot about us and even while serving others around us outside, he'd glance and keep moving. Needless to say, we only had to pay for our drinks and crab claws. But what stunned me was when the waiter had a different employee tell them the situation, he tried to act like...oh, you havent gotten your food yet, let me check...then he comes back with I couldn't identify what was on the place and said all of your meals are free no charge, just pay for your drinks and crab claws. At this point, my mother told him to just put it in Togo boxes seeing how we were there now 2 hours without eating and everyone around us was eating. Once we got back to our room and opened the Togo boxes, the food wasn't all there, just some pieces thrown in box. Needless to say, it all got thrown out because it didn't look good at all. Definitely will not be back and wouldn't recommend...
