Sonia's Patties — Restaurant in Florida

Sonia's hot beef patties with coco bread are one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life. The patties are HUUUUUGE too! A mere $4 will get you a delicious patty with coco bread ($2.50/patty + $1.50/bread) that will fill you up for hours. A single McDonalds Quarter Pounder isn't even that cheap! I can't possibly stress enough just how good these things taste. The women that work there are some of the nicest people in Miami and will remember your name, face, and preferred order even after the first time you go there. The crust on these little pockets of bliss is so perfect and flaky that they maintain their crunch after being frozen for a week, thawed, and microwaved (personal experience). Anyone who orders Sonia's will not be disappointed. And again: Get the coco bread. You WILL want the coco bread. This place was a good place to go to for a really delicious patty and a good price but no so much anymore. The patties are $4.99 for one patty.. $4.99 for only 1 patty mind you before they were 2.75 the they jacked it up to $3.75 or something like that now there $4.99.. I understand Inflation but no way there supplies are that much that they need to price it at $4.99.. and if that wasn't bad enough they are also not making their patties like they use to. Before the patties were full of meat.. but now they put less meat and it's mostly are crust edges. Def disappointed bc they were the best spot I found for pattie.. I mean if you want to raise prices fine but why make your patties with less meat and more crust edges.. no reason to make customers pay more if your gonna serve a less quality product makes no sense.. def not...

It really something when you eat a patty and you don’t make an absolute mess of yourself. Sonia’s is just different. They have been open for 33 years and that alone should solidify this place as Florida staple. It’s when you get the patty and take your first bite is when you realize why they’ve been here for so long. I love Jamaican patties to the point that I prefer them to empanadas!
