I approached writing this review with careful consideration, focusing on the items I frequently order at Sonic: their slushes, ice cream, and pretzel twists.
My absolute favorite is the strawberry real fruit slush, paired with the pretzel twist and cheese. The slush features a syrupy strawberry topping and their signature slush base – it's my go-to drink. When I get the slush, I almost always indulge in the pretzels as well. My only minor critique is that the pretzels can sometimes be overly salted. The cheese for the pretzel comes in a small, pre-packaged container, a bit larger than a silver dollar, and it's never warm or gooey like the cheese offered at competitors such as DQ. While I don't eat as much ice cream as I once did, in the past, I particularly enjoyed the strawberry cheesecake master shake and the Sonic Blast with Reese's. It's important to acknowledge that many of the employees are high school students, and for some, it might be their first job. I try to be understanding. Some are quick learners, while others may take a bit longer, and that's perfectly fine. Overall, I've consistently had positive experiences at Sonic. I highly recommend downloading their app. They offer excellent deals, especially when ordering online. However, it's worth noting that they don't have a point system; instead, they provide...
Read moreI arrived at the Sonic in Lady Lake on Friday June 18th at 4:58pm. Small line in drive thru and almost no one in the call box area. Gabbie and Gage as managers. They need training. Desperately. I thought the service at Sonic in Santee, CA was bad but Lady Lake is far worse. I ordered one drink, one drink. The person taking my order if they are sincerely hearing impaired they should not be working a call box. I had to repeat my order 3 times and then I waited and waited and waited and before I knew it 10 minutes had passed FOR ONE DRINK and they were not busy. I saw a kid coming out in roller skates and he dumped my drink before arriving to my car. Instead of telling me that (I found out later it was my drink) he went back in and I sat there another 7 minutes. I pressed the call button again and the same hearing impaired lady answered and I asked about my drink and she said ‘you want to order a drink?’. Holy freaking frack. Then I saw another worker and I asked her about my drink and she said the kid on the skates dumped it. FYI Gabbie and Gage the proper response would have been ‘hey let me get that for you right away’ but customer service isn’t important any more. This would make a hilarious SNL skit except it really ticked me off. PLEASE train those...
Read moreThis is usually my favorite sonic location, but after today I won't be returning. I placed a pre-order and checked in as usual in a stall. Around my estimated completion time, the screen changed to something I had never seen before, but I'm pretty patient so I waited, figuring this meant my food was on the way. When several other people had come and gone having arrived and ordered after me, and with my lunch break rapidly disappearing, i hit the button to inquire where my food was. I'll admit I was to sharp in my inquiry, but I was told I had delayed my order. I had hit no buttons, and had been watching between my phone screen and the order screen next to my car. I had placed my order nearly 30 minutes before inquiring, and was given blame for delaying my order when I had done nothing other than the basic steps the app requires and a receipt that shows ASAP as the make time. When I finally received my food a full 30 minutes after ordering, I was gruffly told the sauce was in the bag.
This was a terrible experience. I'm not interested in finding out if it gets better or worse from here, but it...
