This review is based on MY recent experience. I was at the location when they first opened and it was great. This time not so much. I came in with a friend around 2:30. The place wasn't even busy yet it took at least 5 minutes to be seated. Once we were seated, we were given menus. It took several minutes for someone to come to our table to ask if we wanted drinks. It took another 10 minutes for someone to come and take our order. Mind you, this place was dead. There were few tables yet many wait people were running around. It made no sense. I used to wait tables. I could have taken this entire restaurant at this time. The service wasn't friendly. It's like they were throwing lots for the tables. Nobody wanted one. Service was dismissive and I found it to be annoying, especially since I was paying for the experience. Servers: NEWSFLASH - tips aren't a right. They're a privilege. Anyway, I digress. The food finally came. I got their new Smokin Brisket Bowl. Don't. It was awful. Nix the baked beans. Yuk. I don't know who thought of this combination but it ruined the other great ingredients in the bowl. Red beans would be better but not baked beans. It wasn't worth $13 bucks, that's for sure. I could have gone to Culvers for a single butter burger and fries for $7 bucks. Just sayin'. Our server laid the check down but took forever in coming to pick up payment. When she did, she dropped it back off with a pen, didn't use any eye contact, turned her back and said, "Have a good day." I'm like, "Really?" Did she think she wasn't gonna get a tip? Did I give her the vibe that it was my intent to stiff her? It was such a cold way to say thanks to a table that just dropped $31 bucks. This is why I don't go out anymore and to be honest with you, I don't think I'll ever be back to this location. It wasn't good. A few steps backwards from when they first opened. And by the way, from the time we walked in to be seated, at 2:30 in the afternoon, to when we left, it took an entire HOUR. Like I said, the place was dead. I'd hate to see how awful it would be for a...
Read moreI have been to this location (Pace, FL) for lunch a few times, dine-in was an improvement on ordering for pickup, although the service leaves much to be desired. Today I ordered pulled pork. I picked up my order, left the restaurant and looked in the box after driving away. The meat was pulled chicken and the fries were brown, cold and looked old. At first I thought my order was mixed up with someone else's so I checked the receipt and it was my name. I turned around and went back and told the lady at the takeout counter that I ordered pork and was given chicken. The lady took my box to the back, turned around, walked back to me with it and argued that it is pork. At that point I wish I had asked for a refund. I told her I've been there several times recently and had the pulled pork and that ain't it!! Have you ever seen solid white pulled pork? So she went to the back and then I hear the cook raising his voice and he continued running his mouth the entire time I waited for my order. I was given "new" food which appears to be the chicken is originally was given with some pork chopped up and piled on top of it. The meat is obviously chicken, looks like chicken and tastes like chicken. The little goopy crap they threw on top looks like the trimmed part of the pork that should've went in the trash. So not only was I caused to be late getting back to work, I still don't have the food I ordered. I mean, did they bleach the pork and infuse chicken flavor because it sure does look and taste like chicken. Also this worries me since I know people with an allergy to poultry and you have a place serving chicken claiming it is pork. This could be disastrous if served to someone with an allergy. The fries I requested to be made fresh were hot, but not one grain of salt was on them and they are still brown and looked nasty. I unfortunately was in a hurry and did not get a picture of the original food, but you can see in the pictures with this post that I was given 2 very obviously different meats...
Read more11th trip, 11th time the entire order was just trash. As a local business owner, I first recommend an overhaul on employees. At least 75% of them are not capable of handling their job duties. Tonight’s disaster, we ordered a pick 4 and received only one side and 2 slices of meat…. YES, TWO slices of meat for a complete pick 4. Notified them before even leaving the restaurant. Upon notifying the lady at the front, she immediately runs away to the drive thru window to finish showing another employee a video on her cell phone and just continues to ignore the issue at the counter. My husband literally went into the kitchen and collected our food tonight because your “employees” wouldn’t/couldnt? Not sure which. This doesn’t hold a candle to our last experience where your own manager severed us the incorrect food three times in a row. Took 4 times to get the correct sandwich with correct meat. SAD. Train your employees better. Teach your employees about food safety requirements, as that was the issue the time before your own manager messing up the food time and time again. Our food out of the drive thru had a moldy and old sandwich wrapper on it. This location needs to get it together. I’m genuinely happy Jim n Nicks is in town now. Pace deserves atleast a decent and clean BBQ place. I have held on to returning to this terrible Sonny’s because of our Love of Fatboys. I have to say after tonight, we will not be returning and we are pushing to speak to upper management outside of this store to handle what needs to be done in this restaurant. We’ve requested someone to reach out before, let’s see if it...
