Sports Grill Kendall — Restaurant in Florida

Everytime we come here to watch a fight there seems to be an issue. We had a party of 8 and off the bat the manager (don’t know his name) but an older guy, was so rude. He began saying he couldn’t sit us until 50% of the party was here (mind you we got here early and it was empty), 50% of our party was then here and he said Nevermind the whole party had to be here, we sat quietly in the front and said nothing else just let him know they were arriving soon.

We proceeded to be sat in a smaller table where we needed extra chairs (restaurant still empty), we asked the waitress if we could get the longer booth since some in our party are large men or if we can have an extra little table to split the parties she said it shouldn’t be a problem since they’re empty so moved us. I went to the restroom just to find the manager being ruthless to the waitress scolding her for having done that, she looked so sad and like she was about to cry. I went to the restroom and he proceeded to scold our party and move us back to the original table saying that those longer tables had reservations and were reserved prior.

I called just to confirm since we’ve been here multiple times and they have always said they don’t reserve and it’s first come first serve, manager answered and said this same line. About 20 minutes later they bring 2 smaller parties in, one of 6 people and one of 4 and proceed to sit them in the “10 person booth”.

It’s honestly not even about the seating but about the treatment of their employees. No need to scold them, one in front of customers and make them look bad and two go back and forth over something so small in a place that’s so empty lol..

We love coming here because it’s been kind of a tradition for years for us, but the last couple times with this specific gentleman have left a bad taste in our mouth.

Do better and respect your employees. Being a waitress is already so stinking stressful, it doesn’t help working under management like that.

And if the waitress sees this, we’re truly sorry and hope you get treated better. You’re doing great and...

It's been at least 7 years since I've been to Sports Grill in kendall. It's nice to see a place thriving. I usually frequent Miller's Ale House near the falls, I usually go around 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and that place is usually pretty much dead during the weekdays, especially Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. So buddy and I went to Sports Grill kendall, where the old Sizzler used to be, remember that? Anyhow, I digress, I was very impressed with this establishment. It seems that they expanded. The service was top-notch. I mean extremely hospitable. I usually eat wings from keg South in pinecrest, which I believe are the best wings, I did not try the wings yet at sports grill. I did order the fish and chips, which I was not impressed with at all. Very bland, nothing special, nothing to write home about at all. Mostly just fried battering and a little bit of white cod fish inside. They should actually pull it off the menu.

But I see that they won an award for best wings in 2024, so I'm going to give them a try. It's either a cake South Pinecrest or sports grill for the best chicken wings. I will update this review later on the other thing that I noticed, that many other establishments do not have, is that they have many surveillance cameras around the entire structure. The big round black Dome ones, that are able to zoom in and zoom out and to pan left and right. That's good. Because it is written, that in the last days, the love of many will grow cold because of the lawlessness that abounds.

Such an under rated place. Amazing food please order the flat bread pizza they just included it to their menu and it's amazing. The specialty wings are so slept on, these are by far the best wings I have ever had, so much so I forgot to take a picture before eating it 😅. The burger was packed with flavor. The quesadilla was amazing it was with bqq chicken and jalapeños. Everything about this place is incredible the service was one of the best things about this place we had a Spectacular waiter called Henry he is one of the nicest human beings I have ever met. He really makes you feel welcomed. The manager Camila was nice enough to come to our table and make sure we were having a good time and enjoyed all of their food. Another good thing about this place before I forget ,the flavoring for their sauces are not just limited to a dip. All of their meats can be prepared using their sauces for example their teriyaki sauce can be ordered as a teriyaki chicken !! Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing, everything we tasted melted in our mouths. Absolutely the best meal we had in a while....
