This was our first time visiting SIP305, and we were genuinely looking forward to trying it out. My son received a coupon for a free 12 oz slushy at the end of the school year, which had no expiration date. We were traveling all summer and finally had a chance to stop by on August 8 to redeem it.

Unfortunately, when we got there, the staff informed us they were no longer accepting those coupons because a new promotion will be starting when school resumes. While I understand promotions evolve, it’s really not fair to turn away a customer who followed the terms provided. Especially when those terms didn’t include an expiration date or usage restrictions.

As a first-time customer, it was disappointing that our first experience was one of confusion and refusal—not because of anything we did wrong, but due to unclear communication from the business. It’s a small thing, but first impressions matter. A clearly printed expiration date or even a disclaimer about the promotional period would have made a big difference.

I recently stopped by a local drive-thru coffee shop that completely outshines Starbucks! Supporting small businesses is always a win, and this spot didn’t disappoint. The staff was super sweet and helpful, recommending her favorite drink—the S’mores Iced Latte—and suggesting the Lavender Vanilla Matcha Latte for next time.

The only downside was the styrofoam cups used for hot coffees and smoothies. While they kept the drinks warm and cold, they’re not the best for little ones—my 2- and 4-year-olds loved the smoothies but could easily break the cups with the straws.
