I used to go to this location a few years ago, as I liked the somewhat longer hours, and the amount of seating available (mostly hard seats, not armchairs or couches). However, I will not be back, after tonight's experience. Two employees were at the counter when I walked in around 10:20pm. I'd tried ordering over the phone to speed up the process. I was asked a bunch of questions about what I wanted, only to be told to go on the app!
Once there I ordered a small tea, only to see the guy was preparing the largest size, and what else was I having? I'd paid already, but he couldn't remember my simple order of 1 small tea. The guy was lost, but he was trying. I was going to order something else, as I remembered some stars would be expiring. However, his co-worker told me that I couldn't, as they were closed. I'm at the counter still, but they just closed..
I just made a purchase, and I can't buy anything else? I said to him that didn't make any sense, but I walked out, not insisting. There is a Starbucks on practically every corner, so I do not feel the need to patronize a location with rude employees. The appeal of this location was not there any longer; the tables were dirty and the 'feel' was not there, either. These particular 2 employees did not leave me with any thought other than "no thanks".
Btw, that section of Calle 8/Eight Street (the western end) is a little tricky, because if you aren't familiar with the area, it's easy to pass the Starbucks, and a u-turn is really hard during the day. The parking is way too crowded, but fine late evening.
Save your time and money for a more pleasant experience, elsewhere. There are way better areas to find a Starbucks with no parking problems, no Calle8 traffic, and no nasty employees! Coral Way and 87 Ave, for example--the people there have been super attentive, friendly, and fast each time...
Read moreMy friends and I visited this location today. We grabbed an extra 2 chairs from a nearby table because there weren’t any 4 seat tables available. As we’re getting up and grabbing our trash a team member with purple hair and a black face mask began walking angrily in our direction. As we’re throwing our trash away at the station nearby she grabs the two chairs we took from the adjacent table and slammed them back into place. She then sternly tells us there’s another trash to toss our cups in by the door before quickly turning away and walking back to the line.
The trash was overflowing before we even got to it. So two things, I’m assuming she was upset because we didn’t out the chairs back at the table that was 1 foot away from us. The second is even though your Starbucks team had nothing to do they decided to let the trash overflow and want people to automatically find another trash to toss items in.
If you don’t like your job in hospitality then figure it out and find something else. The fact that there was a 10 minute wait at the restroom at one point because the team members were inside on “a break” was ridiculous also. If you’re going to be discreet and steal company time don’t make it obvious by everyone disappearing except 1 of you, then watch videos loudly for the next few minutes for everyone standing outside the...
Read moreI asked for a special request. I like to be served on the mobile order counter instead of the usual counter. The lady said she was too busy to serve me on that side, but then when it came time to actually serve the order, they did bring the order out to my side. It's not really any extra work for them because they put mobile orders on that side anyways. It's nice they made the special accommodation for my request even though they were busy. It saves me a 20ft walk, and I don't have stop working. At least for a request on what side of the counter to be served, it's nice to accommodate that request because this Starbucks is shaped in a really long way, so it is more annoying to go to one side of the counter or the other to...
