When my toddler and I walked in this morning, the lady at the counter immediately asked what we wanted. No hi or hello. I said I had never been there. I didnāt know what all they offered. I looked around for a menu board, they donāt have one. So I asked for a pastry. She said āis that all?ā I said no āIāll also get this other pastryā and again said āis that all?ā. I asked for a 3rd item and she made it seem like I was a bother for asking for things THAT I WAS PAYING FOR lol but then finally I saw a tiny sign on the counter handwritten with a few coffee options. When she said yet again āis that all?ā I asked if they had regular drip coffee. She says yeah. I said Iād take a small one just black. She shuffled off to get it. Tells me my total. I go to hand her my card and she says āno you put your card inā which I didnāt even see it bc it was so small and seemed like it was more on her side of the counter. So I pay $15 something for 3 pastries and a plain coffee. I also tipped $2 bc Iām sure lots of hard work went into the process of making all the items they had. She tells me āsign here and that one is your copyā and walked away !! She wasnāt rude rude, but wasnāt nice or friendly. Customer service is either just not for her, or she was having such a bad day that she took some of it out on me. Got home, shared the items with my husband and toddler and 2 out 3 were very lackluster at best. The banana bread slice was pretty good tho. Just a very awkward first experience here. Sadly, most likely our last bc that lady ruined it. When I said āIāve never been here beforeā youād think she would say āoh we offer pastries, desserts, and even have coffee optionsā. Nope. She acted as if she couldnāt care less about anything. Very off putting to say the least. I love to support small business but this whole vibe...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am disappointed in the customer service of this bakery. While I can see they enjoy mostly good ratings, we will likely not use their bakery again. We placed an order for a birthday cake for $45.00. When I placed the order we specifically asked for a cake that has WHITE on the inside (that is, paper white, wedding cake white) and they indicated that they could not do this, nor would they be willing to special order something (for an extra charge of course) to make it for our family, and they would not. I was recommended this bakery as we never knew it existed so I ordered their yellow cake anyway. Upon leaving the store, I asked for the owner to contact me which he kindly did. I just got off the phone with him and he basically told me that they are unwilling to special order anything for a customer. I told him that for the last several years we have been able to get this same white cake request from PUBLIX (though I realize they are big) and wondered why he would not oblige a customer for a special order. He continued that Publix's cake mix they have been ordering for me was nothing more than frozen mix. I am not sure he get's that all I wanted was customer service which they are unwilling to think about here, which is a shame, because though there are not a ton of bakery's in the area, there are other choices. We will not be back. In fact we will stick with our crappy, frozen, and delicious Publix mixes for all of our family's birthdays and celebrations. Additionally they wrote happy birthday on a woman's cake in the darkest brown coloring... How is that a woman's cake writing? In this economy, Sweet Caroline's, it would behoove you to be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered a Boss Baby cake from Sweet Caroline's and paid $100 for the cake. This was not a rush job. My husband picked up the cake while i was at work and immediately sent me the pictures of it. The cake looked very sloppy and the lettering looked like someone outlined the letters with cream and then used their finger to smear it around. Long story short, i was very upset as the party was the next morning. I called the store immediately and talked to Sandy (sp?) who took my order. I expressed how disappointed i was, but she said she thought the cake looked great. She said the owner would call me. He did. When i raised my concerns with him (i was still at work), he insisted that the picture my husband took was from a "bad angle" and they all at the bakery thought they did an amazing job. He said, i should go home, look at the cake, and see it or myself. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, and went home. The cake looked no better at home than it did on the picture i originally saw. I posted the pictures and video of the cake on Facebook in one of the local groups, and MANY cake decorators have spoken out to say the job looks very amateurish and poorly executed. "At least it will taste great"- they reassured me. WRONG. Next morning at the party we cut into that "cake"... There was barely any cake, it was ALL buttercream and icing... i mean, there was way more buttercream and icing than the cake! It tasted like i bit into a stick of sweet butter! Must have been "bad angle", i suppose... i'm very disappointed and will not buy anything from this...
