Tandoor Indian Cuisine, 6300 N. Wickham Rd. Melbourne, FL 32940
3- Stars
Many people take up golf upon retirement, while others shuffleboard at a retirement village (gestures at the entire state). What did I do? I took it upon myself to provide unadulterated food reviews for the Space Coast of FL at no charge to you, the reader. I’m just that kind of guy. Since I didn’t have a tee time, I tended to lounge around a bit, wrapped snugly in the family counterpane. However, the name generator told me it was time to get to work. Dislodging myself from the spread, I grabbed my keys and headed north to the Pineda Causeway (thereby putting going OTB off for as long as feasibly possible). Just north of the Causeway on Wickham Road sits the Indian Buffet Restaurant, Tandoor Indian Cuisine.
Call me “late to the party,” but I had no idea we had two Indian restaurants in the county, let alone the four I found out now exist. For a comparison, this one is the Walmart of Indian Restaurants so far reviewed. The entire service staff is Vietnamese, the kitchen was 100% Mexican and the owner was Indian. Not one word of English was heard nor spoken. If they put in self-serve checkout, you would have Walmart.
Our service pro today was a Vietnamese chap going by the name of Llama. As Llama’s English skills were on par with my Vietnamese skills, we worked out a point-and-grunt method of ordering that went without a hitch. How hard is it to understand “The Buffet”?
This Indian buffet was filled with the ever-present and famous Tandoori chicken, butter chicken, sang, and warm naan, along with several vegetarian dishes in various curries. I never once in a million years would have guessed I would be reviewing and comparing Indian restaurants in Bree-vard County, FL. But, as the man said, “The times, they are a-changin’.”
The Big Boy says, “There are better Indian buffets around; however if you are stuck in Suntree with the cold sweats for an adequate...

Went in with the party of Three for an early dinner. Decided to introduce some friends to Indian cuisine.
Outside looks very unassuming, but upon entering the restaurant looks like many four and five star restaurants that I visited. The staff is equally as attentive! (Huge marks there)
The appetizers were fantastic, we got the mixed pakora. Which normally I don't like anything vegetarian, but quickly found myself munching through the veggie option. The taste was marvelous I can't even put my finger on what it compares to.
Right after the appetizers came so did my chai tea, which please someone give me the recipe to that! I need to have that at my house haha.
For the main course we ordered butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and vegetarian biryani. The butter chicken was so rich with flavor, I've had butter chicken from all around the country now and this has been the best by far. The tikka masala was equally as good, had just the right amount of spice to it. Wasn't too overwhelming, but was not a pushover. The biryani, well that was one dish my friend had troubles finishing due to how spicy it was, not to mention it clearing all of our sinuses lol.
All in all I have to say that was one of the best dining experiences I've had in the last 5 years. In that time I visited thousands of restaurants around the country. The fact that this one has been sitting in my backyard this entire time, and that I did not know about it makes me sad, but equally excited. This makes me happy because I will always have this option whenever I come home! I look forward to eating there again, I'm trying to get that chai tea recipe off...
