When it comes to upscale dining places in the Brevard County area that are worth the drive, there are few viable options to choose from. Most of the restaurants in the area tend to be either franchised or casual dining establishments, that place less emphasis on the creative aspects of the dining experience. Yanzi Kitchen, is an innovative and new, fine-dining Chinese restaurant (think of an elevated PF Chang's), recently opened up by the owners of Red Ginger in Suntree.
Since Yanzi Kitchen's opening, I have patronized the restaurant at least a half dozen times. The food has always been impeccable, and the service is consistently outstanding. Grace, the chef/owner, is a virtuoso in the kitchen. She could make cardboard look and taste good if asked to do so.
Grace is very meticulous when it comes to her dishes. She uses the finest quality of ingredients that present well on a plate and burst with flavor. Most of Grace's dishes look like a masterpiece of art that could be sold in a gallery. You're likely to deliberate on whether or not you want to eat it or frame it.
Yesterday, I had a steamed airline chicken dish in a ginger scallion sauce with some white rice. This specific dish was not on the menu, but made available to me because the ingredients required to make the dish were available in the kitchen. That bird, the airline chicken, was divine and had me flying! The generous portions of chicken (bone-in and skin on) were steamed to perfection---nice and moist. The accompanying ginger scallion sauce that includes garlic within it was very flavorful, and natural tasting. I thoroughly enjoyed this dish!
Brooks, my server yesterday, always does an outstanding job! He is attentive yet unobtrusive in his service. He knows the menu well and can be relied upon to make sound recommendations on items from the kitchen or bar area.
In my opinion, Yanzi Kitchen, is the best option for the dollar in the area. The prices for the entrees are at least 10-20% below where they could be, considering the portion size. I would highly recommend taking advantage of the pricing opportunity made available...
Read moreOur first time at YanZi Kitchen and it was awesome! We loved that everything was from scratch and prepared right there in that cozy and beautiful place. Nick was super great and explained everything as we went along. The two appetizers (Soup dumplings and Octopus) came out on black slate and we're just as delicious as the presentation was. The ladies had the Scottish Salmon and they absolutely loved it, especially the handmade and hand cut noodles it was served on. I had the best rack of lamb i have ever had in my life! Thick and juicy, and so tender i could have cut them with a fork. I actually joked to Nick about the expensive Japanese steak knife he brought me to cut it up with. A butter knife would have sufficed. The green beans were super awesome and that rice-like polenta was to die for. Grace made up two sauces to accompany the lamb that were both amazing. I couldn't decide which one was better. Needless to say, my plate was clean when i was done. This lady sure has some fantastic talent for sure! She took some typically non-Asian dishes and added her own Asian flair to them which was magical. I want to, and will, come back and try everything on the menu. I wish i had taken some photos to share, but trust me, you won't be...
Read moreThis night was so lovely! Don't quote me, but I am pretty sure this is my first time leaving a review for food, because this place was that good. My husband and I came to celebrate our anniversary, and just wanted to try something new. We just googled for places near by, and this YanZi popped up. We looked at the menu online, and my husband was excited. I personally don't eat meat very often, and didn't see many vegetarian or vegan options so I was less excited. But he was really excited so I put on a smile and said let's give it a try. We made a reservation, so they had the table set up very cutely for us. Our Server was Nick and he was fabulous, and I cannot remember who our chef was but she was was also fabulous (chatted with us a bit too). We ordered a starter, and then I got Divers Scallops and my husband got the rack of lamb. I did taste his sauces and stole some of his veggies and they were great! His plate had a white garlic sauce (he liked it better) and a green sauce (I liked it better). I did not taste his main entre (the lamb) but he loved it. My dish...OMG, so freaking good! I don't even know what to say beyond that. I was stuffed so we didn't get desert, but I will for sure be back to try the Ube...
