NO GOOD

Yesterday we decided to give it a shot to this place, bad decision. We went and try to open the door around 11:35 and it was closed even though they open at 11 AM, we were about to leave when the waitress opened the door and told us they were open so we entered the establishment just to find a place outdated and unwelcoming, the waitress apologized for been late and gave us chips and salsa and a menu that was more like a book with 7 pages, I mean for a small place like that was way too much but still we wanted to try the food, we saw a dish that we want and is hard to find, chilaquiles and my wife and I ordered the same, my wife had water and I ordered a watermelon water. Water was way too sweet so I asked for a lemon to add it to the water. The Food was good but I asked for more sauce. When I need the check it was 41 dollars and I asked why and the waitress Told me that it was five dollars for the watermelon water $24 dollars for both dishes, 1.50 for the lemons and 3.00 dollars for the salsa plus 5 dollars gratuity included, I replied saying that she should had notified me I was gonna be charged for the salsa and the lemons and she said That all the information is in the menu...in the seven page menu. I didn't know I was supposed to read the whole stupid menu in order to eat there, I told her if they keep doing things like that the restaurant is not going to last, then she said in A nasty way "oh well you should have read the menu" so I paid And left Promising myself I will never come back. Honestly I really wanted to help this small business but they...

I want to start off by saying the food was actually decent. The reason I am giving them 1 star is because I found hair under my fish. They basically accused me of pulling out my own hair (I have dread locs) and putting it underneath my fish because their chef is bald and the other chef has red hair. The manager also interrogated me by asking me a bunch of patronizing questions as if I was lying and came up with a bunch of unrealistic possibilities of how the hair could have gotten in my food outside of their restaurant. Why would I drive all the way home which is 15min away, put hair in food I was enjoying, and drive all the way back there just to ask for a new plate of food ESPECIALLY with these gas prices. Keep in mind I barley ate any of the food. ALSO, they forgot to give me my chips and guacamole the first time I went in. It was given to me when I went back in to inform them about the hair. I honestly did not want a refund I just wanted a new plate of food minus the hair, the manager wouldn’t even honor that. I wasn’t even able to get a refund. I’m not sure what type of animal she mistaken me for because after examining the food with her fingers and talking all over it, the manager then asked me if I wanted the food. Thank God there are more and better Mexican restaurant in town because that’s the first and last time I step...

As a connoisseur of Mexican cuisine, I recently decided to try out Taqueria Montano's Mexican Food in search of some flavorful tacos. However, my experience left much to be desired, prompting me to share my honest review with fellow food enthusiasts.

I opted for the chicken tacos and fried pork tacos, eagerly anticipating a delightful meal. Unfortunately, what arrived was far from satisfying. Both dishes were drenched in excessive grease, leaving an unpleasant residue on my fingers with every bite. The meat itself was subpar, lacking the tenderness and flavor I had hoped for. In fact, it can only be described as "trashy," failing to meet even modest expectations.

While the service wasn't terrible, it fell short of being memorable. Despite ordering takeout, the staff seemed indifferent and failed to convey any genuine appreciation for my patronage or tip. It's disheartening when a restaurant fails to recognize the importance of every customer, regardless of whether they dine in or take out.

Regrettably, my experience at Taqueria Montano's Mexican Food was underwhelming, to say the least. The lackluster food quality combined with indifferent service leaves me with no desire to return. In a city filled with exceptional dining options, I'll be taking my cravings elsewhere...

Had a great lunch here today. Pretty authentic Mexican cuisine with fresh ingredients. The ceviche tostada had more veggies and herbs than I’ve had other places but it tasted fresh and was delicious. The shrimp taco was excellent. Simple but great flavor! My husband got the chimichanga. Huge portion. He wished we had been provided more than one small bowl of salsa with our lunch so he could add some to his lunch, but we cleared the small bowl with the chips before the lunch even arrived. Only odd thing is they added a service charge, basically a tip, as a line item on the bill without any indication that was going to be added. Felt a little sneaky because the bill didn’t have any descriptions and it was added as a line item, not after the total, so it looked like something we had purchased. I asked before paying fortunately.

This restaurant has Mexican street tacos and birria. That was all i was interested in and i got some carne asada tacos and al pastor on this visit. The salsa has cilantro stems in it which gives it a strong cilantro presence if you are into that. Me personally it makes my mouth water too much where i feel nauseous but the tacos were priced like most mexican spots 2-3 bucks. I wont tell them what to charge but for the most part they have decent food great service. If you are in the area you can get these tacos or drive down further on us 1 for casa amigos for a little better deal for your money. They are kind of in the same price range but casa has more flavor for me and the chips and salsa slightly taste better for me. But solid mexican option.

The Google reviews were good so we decided to give it a try. It seemed like only one person was working. The salsa looked and tasted like it had sat open in the fridge for a week or more. Dried cilantro on the lip and the no flavor or heat. We asked for queso and chips. Got a Styrofoam cup of cheese and 14 chips, and 1 left over, or dropped into the fryer corn tortilla. Wet burrito was flavorless, the meat also didn't appear seasoned. The salad looked like it belonged on a burger. The only thing the food has going for it is photogenic.
