Using High fructose in your hot sauce and ketchup can cause harm, Why do you want to cause harm? High fructose consumption has been linked to several health issues, including obesity, type 2 diabetes, and liver disorders. Studies suggest that excessive fructose intake can overload the liver, leading it to convert the excess fructose into fat, which can contribute to the development of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and insulin resistance.
Research indicates that both sucrose (table sugar) and high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) can increase liver fat and decrease insulin sensitivity, even in individuals who are lean or of normal weight. These effects can occur within just two weeks of consuming sugar-sweetened beverages, highlighting the rapid impact of high fructose intake on metabolic health.
While some studies have suggested that HFCS might be more harmful than other sugars, more recent evidence shows no significant difference in the negative health effects between HFCS and sucrose. Both can contribute to metabolic syndrome, a cluster of conditions that increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes.
However, it's important to note that not all fructose is created equal. Fructose from whole fruits is generally considered safe and beneficial as part of a balanced diet, due to the presence of fiber and other nutrients that mitigate potential negative effects. The concern primarily lies with added sugars, particularly in processed foods and beverages, which are often high in fructose.
In summary, while moderate consumption of fructose from natural sources like fruits is not considered harmful, excessive intake of added sugars, including those high in fructose, can pose significant health...
Read moreDel Taco was a cherished part of my childhood! Growing up in California, it was practically everywhere. After I joined the Marines, I quickly learned that it wasn't available in most states. Eventually, my family moved to North Carolina, but every year when we visited California to see our Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, Cousins, and friends, Del Taco was always one of our first stops. Their Chicken Classic with sauce is simply AMAZING!
When I relocated to West Palm Beach, Florida, in 2018, I discovered a Del Taco in Kissimmee, the closest one I had seen since leaving the West Coast for NC in 2005. I made a few trips just to satisfy my Del Cravings! 😂 A few months ago, when my dad was driving down from NC, I looked up Del Taco and was thrilled to find out that one was about to open in my area. You can bet we were in the drive-through on opening day! I was so excited that I took pictures of the drive-through menu to send to my brothers back in NC, both of whom were stationed in the Army with their families.
I'm genuinely grateful to whoever the owner is for bringing this California gem to Florida! While it may be fast food and not a five-star restaurant, it offers delicious options beyond Taco Bell. It also holds a special place in my heart as one of my mom's favorite spots in California. We lost her unexpectedly in 2020, so every visit to Del Taco is a bittersweet reminder of my childhood and brings back fond...
Read morePleased with my first time trying Del Taco!
PSL finally got a new fast food spot with a fresh take. Del Taco offers tacos, burgers, fries, burritos and more. I don’t understand all the hate being received so far. My wife and I tried a few menu items being it was our first time and were pleasantly surprised how good everything was.
No, it wasn’t the best food in the world but it is Fast Food and definitely can compete with Taco Bell and other restaurants who compare.
The Epic Grilled Loaded Queso Burrito stood out to me. A large burrito that had cheese, chicken, tomatoes, and FRIES inside was something I never had before so I was happy it tasted fresh and appetizing. The chicken tastes better than Taco Bell’s chicken by a long shot.
My other favorite item was the Caramel Cheesecake Bites. It was basically an eggroll with cheesecake and caramel filling. They were fantastic! Can’t wait to have them again on my next visit.
The Chili Cheese Crinkle cut fries were good, nothing special. I do enjoy the crinkle cut fry they offer. They are cooked well. The Carne Asada Steak Street Taco tasted decent as well. Didn’t blow me away but that is okay. I was happy about my experience.
Staff was friendly and our order came out in a timely manner even with all the traffic indoors and at the drive thru. If you live in town, you have to give them a fair shot and...
