The Greyson - Lakewood Ranch — Restaurant in Florida

We visited this restaurant on August 8th, arriving around 6:15 PM. We placed our full order (both appetizers and entrées) with our server, who then put in our appetizer order. From there, things unfortunately took a steep decline.

Our server never once checked on us after taking the order. She disappeared for roughly 30 minutes, spending most of the time seated at the bar in the B section. During this time, our drinks sat empty for at least 15 minutes with no refill offers.

When she did take our order, she used a handheld screen and leaned over our table with her elbows resting on it, multiple times reaching directly in front of my face to pass things out—something that felt careless and unprofessional.

When we finally asked about our entrées—after an hour and a half at the table—we were told the “kitchen accidentally bumped it”. It’s baffling that no one noticed in that entire time that our table had not received food.

The manager came over in an attempt to smooth things over, offering to comp the food. We appreciated the gesture, but it didn’t fix the fact that the service was disjointed and inattentive. After finally eating, we then waited another 45 minutes for our check, bringing the total visit to almost 3 hours for two taco entrées and a buffalo chicken wrap.

On a positive note, bartender Jade did make an excellent Old Fashioned and Cosmopolitan—both well-balanced and flavorful, and a highlight of the night.

UPDATE: the food was comped as it should have been… maybe if you got what ever clock fixed you were looking at you could tell time a little bit better because “10 minute mix up” is a WILD statement. Did we leave a $0 tip absolutely. Maybe if you spent Friday nights in your establishment where you got not one but your second 1 star review in a 2 hour period you would know what’s happening. Hilarious how the server went immediately to the Manager about comping our food before ever going into the kitchen to “check on it”…. Just so we’re all on the same page here tips are performance based not mandatory otherwise you would have added an automatic gratuity. Where to start. Gave this location a try since we already had a bad experience at the Parrish location. Pretty much the same. Young girls hosting and serving hurdled up with their manager just chatting with no care for their customers. For it being empty, every task took about 10 mins. Asked for a kid's menu up front, didn't get one. Asked for one when the girl came back and it took 10 mins. Our server then starts walking away and had to stop her so we could order drinks...again 10 more mins. We order our food and and waited. After it was just dropped, another 10 mins to check up on our food but she never came. Had to wave her down to ask for condiments and you know it...10 more mins. She had only 2 tables and it shouldn't be this hard to just come around instead of talking and hanging out with 5 other girls up front by the door. So many missed opportunities, we didn't even get the chance to order more drinks from the bar. Please don't come here, but if you would like to just be ignored and be there for like 2 hrs then this is your place. This is yet another restaurant that's going to disappear at this very location.

After restaurant response: It was tonight. And why would I go out of my way for this?? Obviously this was not enjoyable to have to wave down and be ignored. I've only left less than a handful of bad reviews and this is def one of them. You're comments are very condescending, and the manager "present" was only present to their young girl staff. It was pretty dead so I don't see why service had to be this bad. It was also pouring outside so it was def not your best walk-in. Worst service we have ever had at any restaurant. We have been there twice before and food was good- service never was, but we decided to come there for a birthday with a party of 8. Every time we walk in, they have girls working there who are just sitting on their cell phones- they seemed annoyed by us even walking in. Got a table, but was full of food crumbs (as it was last visit too) and we aaked her if she could wipe it off. She only did it half way with a dirty rag- I had to ask her for the rag and did it myself as she was so pathetic. Server came, got drinks and our appetizer, ordered our food. Food finally came out after a long time- drinks were empty and nobody came to check on us or get refills- finally had to ask her to get some more drinks. Then they fogot 1 meal completely, and made 2 incorrecty. So we told them again what the order was a second time as half of us started eating. Finally the missing food came out, but was only 1 of the 3 meals, and wrong again, had to order a plain hamburger for a third time- ridiculous. Waited about another 15 minutes to get 2 plain burgers and a salad- so everyone else was already done eating. Then took a long time to get our check. The servers’ attitudes are terrible there- they just sit on their phones and do nothing- when ask them for anything they are visibly annoyed and have no idea how to do anything right, such as wiping off a table- which should have been done before seating us- get off your phones and do your job! This was Saturday at 5:00 on October 25- was not even busy and still terrible We will never be back here and its unfortunate as we live close and like to eat out.
