The Hungry Greek — Restaurant in Florida

I recently had an awful experience at this location of Hungry Greek. I walked in, excited for some good food, but what I witnessed completely ruined the entire dining experience. While I was waiting for my order, I witnessed the owner—who, to my surprise, was an Indian man—yelling and belittling an underage female employee in front of customers and her coworkers. It was incredibly uncomfortable to watch. The employee looked visibly upset, and the owner didn’t hold back, shouting at her as if she were worthless. To make matters worse, he showed no concern for how his behavior was affecting the staff or the customers around him. It was so bad that the poor girl actually quit on the spot.

Not only was this situation completely unprofessional, but it was also downright embarrassing for everyone involved. I understand that running a business can be stressful, but this was beyond unacceptable. It completely overshadowed the meal and made the atmosphere feel toxic. Ordered the chicken & steak souvlaki, asked for the steak medium rare what I got instead was a war crime in meat form. This thing was cooked so far past well-done it qualified for retirement. It had the texture of a tire from a ‘92 Honda Civic and the chewiness of dollar store bubblegum after it’s been in someone’s pocket during a July heatwave. I had to tap out and spit it out like I was ejecting a cursed artifact from my mouth.

Gyro was extremely average. Looked decent enough on arrival, but biting into it was like unwrapping a gift only to find a used sock. Meat was lukewarm, flavor was playing hide and seek, and the tzatziki tasted like someone whispered “garlic” over a tub of plain yogurt. For the price they’re charging, I expected to be spiritually transported to a sunlit Greek island, not feel like I just got scammed at a strip mall in suburban Florida. Go to Pappas Fresh Greek, Little Greek, or literally any other greek place for better customer service, food quality, and efficiency lol Tried this place two times for lunch, and both times I went my food was cold (did both takeout and dine in). The first time I ordered a lamb gyro and everything was good except the cold lamb, so I thought Id give it another shot. Started out strange because the younger kid at the front taking my order had zero customer service, barely said one word. No “what would you like to eat today” or “your total is (blank)” or “heres your change”, it was weird…finally got my food (one greek bowl and side of fries) after waiting 15/20 minutes for chicken to be cooked at 12pm on a Saturday.
