It's sad because the food was decent but the experience was so weird that it became annoying. While I was paying still, they already start yelling my name 6 times very loudly for my chips and queso. The server just hands me the food instead of walking it to the table. When we just got our entree food and I have the first bite in my mouth, they are coming over and asking us if we need anything immediately. I mean, yay they are being super fast on everything but this is to the point that I need them to just back off already. Give me a minute! I find it very irritating to have them yelling for me before I even finish paying or asking me questions when I'm still chewing my first bite. The waitress was going to walk away before I could actually answer her question because she wouldn't wait for me to not have food in my mouth. If you are going to choose to ask something while your customer clearly have food in their mouth, then have patience for them to chew it and answer you. I ended up pointing out my empty water. They are in such a rush that they don't let you calmly enjoy your experience. This was my biggest issue with My first time visit. The other things I didn't like: How you have to pay and tip before the meal. I always tip reasonable but I like to give extra if I really like my experience. I can't do that with their set up as far as I can tell without doing their cash tipping. I don't carry cash on me really anymore. Again, I feel as if I'm being rushed to decide before I even have an experience. When the server offered to refill my chips before leaving, she gave me salsa instead of queso to go. I paid for queso and chips. My entree came with queso as well. I would think that's what I would have gotten but no. Not a big deal but kind of disappointing. They didn't offer to-go cups for any of the "dips" that came with my entree despite both me and my boyfriend having left overs. This is pretty standard for other places I've gone to. Overall, I probably wouldn't come here again. When I go out to eat, I'm there for the experience and don't want to be rushed the entire time. If I was in a rush, I'd just get fast food through a...
Read moreThe most recent reviews appear to show a trend. This restaurant has gone down hill. We were very disappointed in our latest trip last night. Wife and I each ordered the chimichanga. Mine had at most 2-3 tablespoons of filling, about the equivalent of a single soft shell taco from Taco Bell. Half of it had absolutely zero filling. My wife's was SLIGHTLY better. I understand cost control but $43 for 2 mostly empty chimichangas, 2 sodas and a chips and queso left me feeling very hesitant to return. I considered sending it back but I generally won't risk upsetting the kitchen staff making my food and didn't have time to wait for another meal to be prepared. Very disappointing as we used to love Tijuana Flats.
Update: Got a response on my review that asked me to send it to customer service for follow up. No response from them almost a month later. Appears to be a review ploy to make it look as if customer service is...
Read moreOur order was not what we ordered. I ordered two tacos and was told I could have guacamole comes on it, it was brought without. When I asked the waitress, she said she could get me some at an extra charge. I was only upset because I was told one thing but served not as ordered. They would add guacamole at an extra charge. The Taco meat was greasy. My husband and some friends went to a business lunch there on Taco Tuesday and they were great, but not greasy. So I'm not sure if the meat is used more than one day, that made it greasy or not. We use to eat there at least once a week and out of the blue the ground beef was greasy a few times and we just quit going to eat there. So he went this week, Tuesday and said the food was not greasy anymore, but on Friday it definitely was greasy enough that the shell was falling apart before I could finish it. We won't be going...
