We were coming in from out of town and hungry..., sooo like many of you, we scrolled through ā the Googleā for restaurants with good reviews- * FULL STOP* - upon seeing 4.7 stars, we decided to try Timotiās Seafood Shak. The ordering process was ok, But, very interestingly while paying, the prompt on the screen request your/a 0-5 star review at that moment. That review preceded receiving the food that one has ordered. So, when you read the reviews as I did ( unknowingly... some , indeed many may be of this type..?? ) I ordered the shrimp basket and 2- fish baskets with hush puppies and fries . Both came out a short time later. The sweet tea tasted old, bad- perhaps lilā tainted..? The shrimp was very heavily coated ( read over coated) with batter. The French fries were also covered in batter & seasoning.. ( which I found odd- battered French fries..??) which were also, a bit soggy , perhaps the victim of being twice cooked in a feeble effort to send out hot..? Idk..? When I received my order I noticed both immediately, I went to the counter and inquired if I may have plain French fries * no batter* please..? I was informed that was the only way the fries are served. I pointed to the large menu behind the register and noted that it does not read battered / seasoned French fries, it reads on the menu French fries. The cashier proffered a half hearted sorry thatās the only way we serve them , all are preseasons and prebattered . The fish basket was ok, it was lighter battered - which was a good thing. The shrimp & French fries- not Soo much. Overall the fish basket ok- nothing special. The shrimp did taste / seem fresh underneath the copious residue of batter. The French fries if fresh.. instead of soggy, heavily battered/ seasoned may well too, might have been otherwise tasty - Alas, disappointingly that Was Not the Case. 2 ( read two ) Stars, a fair, legitimate review. Al be it postprandial ( as I earnestly suspect most are not ) sincerely hope this is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTimoti's Seafood Shak is a great little place to grab some good seafood. This location is located in Nocatee near the Publix. It has a fairly decent sized indoor seating area and outdoor tables that wrap around the sides of the building. The menu offers different types of seafood (catch of the day, shrimp, clams, oysters) either fried, grilled or blackened. You can get these items in baskets, tacos, wraps, salads or boxes/bowls. They also have some soups on the menu. On this trip I went with the fried clams basket. The clams were good and you get a good portion. You also get a large amount of fries, which are very very crispy. In addition, you get 2 hushpuppies that were very good, and have red/green peppers in them. Finally, the basket also comes with a cup of coleslaw. My wife and I thought the coleslaw was just OK, it was a little bit bland. My wife ordered the fried fish basket, which also came with fries, hush puppies and slaw. She liked the fish and said it was very mild and most importantly not fishy. Her favorite part of the meal were the hush puppies, she really like that they added peppers to them. My niece tried a coconut rice box/bowl with blackened shrimp. She said the shrimp were really good, but said that the coconut rice and black beans were a little bland, but over all she liked her meal a lot. She also made a comment that the mango green tea was very good. Even though my wife and I both ordered fried meals, we both agree that the food didn't seem super greasy, so that was very good. For dessert we tried the Key Lime cups. If you like Key Lime pie, then you definitely have to give this a try! The venue was clean and surprisingly didn't smell like seafood or have that "greasy" smell that many places that deep fry foods have, which is a plus. We will definitely be back again when we are craving...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to love coming to this place. But lately their service was just disaster. So disappointed. I live in Jacksonville, FL and yes, I would make the 40 min drive out here for this place but yesterday I was done. Few times of disappointments is enough for me.
My last visit was last night. It was a Saturday night on 9/16/23 went like this. I arrive at 7:50 pm and ordered my food. I come here specifically for the coleslaw and love the coleslaw. They take my order and I get extra coleslaw side and only to find out later that they out of it. Itās Saturday night! How are you out of so many things. They were also out of avocados and my wife couldnāt order what she wanted. So when we got our food, we were told they were out of multiple things. Yes, they offered fries and Caesar salad for a change, but that was not why I came here. Every time I come, you can just be out of so many things and so often.
Next, I love sweet tea here and its the best one Iāve ever had but itās always gone an hour before closing! An hour before close and they already clean everything up. We came in as a party of 10 ppl, all of us wanted sweet tea and there was nothing left and they said they were done brewing for the day!!!!
At 8:45 kitchen was fully closed and they definitely made us feel like they wanted us gone. This is not the first time this happened otherwise I would never sit down and write such a long review. But last night was the cherry on top.
As a customer, all I wanted was the drink that I paid for and the food from the menu. But my last 3 visits were very sad and always out of things. Iām sad and so disappointed as I truly loved this place. I hope this will change and I could give this place...
