I've tried to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt but I can't sit back and say nothing any longer. I LOVE Jamaican cuisine, so having a restaurant close to me made me happy. However, this restaurant is soooooo dirty!! It looks like they NEVER wash the glass windows/doors coming into the restaurant. First impressions are super important and yes, they should be washed every day for cleanliness but clearly they aren't. Also, the door leading into the kitchen is FILTHY!! The dirt has been there for YEARS! I know this because every time l've gone in there it's the same exact dirt plus more!! Ugh ...
recently I went in to give them another chance ... but l ended up walking out because the woman working there was coughing and sneezing, she put a mask on but it didn't cover her nose??? Just her mouth?? Germs are passed through the nose AND mouth ! Sigh. I bought food from this restaurant about 6 months ago and got severely ill the next day! I can't help to wonder if I got food poisoning??? Sigh.
It is imperative that places that serve food should be spotless when you're feeding the community. Unfortunately, mom and pop shops like this where the owners are from other countries don't always uphold the health standards that are required to have a food establishment here. l've traveled the world so I know what it's like eating in other countries, and yes l've been to Jamaica several times. Sometimes things like washing glass and doors are over looked. But you seriously can't do this! It is indicative of how the food is being prepared in my eyes!
To the owners and staff PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a deep clean of your restaurant! Call a professional if need be! You don't need to use toxic chemical cleaning products either! Like seriously, very hot water and dish soap is all you need!! But this is unacceptable. You can also take a magic eraser with HOT water and soap to clean the door in between the dining area and kitchen! | can't even imagine what the kitchen looks like đ«
âą. Please do better! Your customers will appreciate this greatly! I donât like trashing small businesses because I know first hand how challenging it is to run one, so if you could do a deep clean Iâll actually come back and remove this review. This is an opportunity to improve, many people wonât tell you what they see wrong they just wonât come back! Unless you just donât want to be the best đ„ Jamaican restaurant out there then I guess...
Read moreAs a black man I've always struggled to understand why this simple little thing cannot be improved in a lot of our businesses. Good customer service! There's a lot of people that would excuse a bad food day, or subpar items on the menu if the customer service was rock solid. It's not hard at all, I work as a project manager and perform customer service daily with my clients. Not all of my projects go smoothly, as much as I wish they would, but people will give you the benefit of the doubt if they know that you are approachable and customer service oriented. I have not been to this restaurant in about 6 years; but for all the people knew on the inside, I was a brand new customer. Not only did they not greet me with a smile, welcome to the restaurant, thank you for spending your money to keep us in business, but the woman behind the counter had a look on her face like I was an annoyance. I told her that the food was either in my wife's name or mine, which seemed to confuse her for a moment, and rather than smile and ask me to say that again, she gave me a very irritated look. so the other woman at the cash register told me that it was in my wife's name, to which the more moody looking lady handed me my food without anything else being said. The lady at the cash register then took my money, and turned right to the next person without so much as a thank you.
My people, it's not that hard! A simple smile, welcome to my restaurant, would you like anything else, in fact we have a special today, you know basic human interaction. And then after they spend their money, a thank you have a nice day please come again, could see the customer coming back. Look at your reviews for God's sake! The majority of the reviews that are negative is about the customer service. That's not hard to fix! It's not rocket science people, even if you're having a bad day learn to act. Smile even if it's fake and greet your damn customers! Tell them thank you for spending their money! It's silly to lose a business because of this...
Read moreI called to place a to go order and the lady answering the phone was very rude. I proceeded with my order anyway. Should have followed my first mind and not place the order. Everything from there went down hill. Placed the order and gave my name. Had someone go in to pick up the order that I placed in their name. The person goes in to pick up order only to be charged sixty dollars for the wrong order. Went back to explain that what they were given was not there order. The staff member became belligerent in front of others customers after she messed up the order. I have worked in the restaurant industry and if someone calls in an order and give their name then once the person shows up to pick up order the order should be verified by staff person especially the one who took the order in the first place. On top of all that this staff member had the audacity to belittle the customer by calling him retarded in front of other paying customers. Never once did she try to rectify the situation. Refused to correct her mistake she only realized what she did wrong after the customer who did order all the food she gave me walked in to pick it up. All I wanted was a refund and the food I ordered but she refused to correct the problem. Wonât be patronizing this joint any longer. I will take my business else where with better customer service. Sad, you never know who you are dealing with what is going on in the world today. All of this could have gone really bad if I were one of the many psychos out in the world....
